Employees don’t just leave jobs. They leave environments where they don’t feel valued. I would like to address a concern regarding my incentive compensation. Over the past five years, I have consistently contributed to significant revenue growth for the organization. Despite this, my incentive payout has been withheld following my full and final settlement. The organization and HR team have stated that I did not complete a full cycle, however, I assert that I successfully completed both the Rabi and Kharif seasons. This incentive represents the culmination of my dedicated efforts. I question the rationale behind the company retaining these funds. Furthermore, I believe that an organization's growth is intrinsically linked to fair compensation practices for its employees. Despite my extensive tenure and superior qualifications in agribusiness, coupled with a significant growth trajectory in a challenging market, and my oversight of twelve districts within coastal Odisha, the organization has not yet advanced me to a regional-level position. Conversely, other prominent organizations, including limited companies and multinational corporations, have extended offers for such senior leadership roles. Is this an appropriate situation? The increasing rate of resignations suggests a need to re-evaluate in internal systems. A well-structured and employee-centric organization is crucial, and current trends indicate a deviation from this principle. And the truth is... Retention is not about salary alone. It’s about how people feel every single day at work. Do they feel heard? Do they feel respected? Do they feel trusted? Do they see growth? Because when employees are: ✔ Paid fairly ✔ Listened to genuinely ✔ Appreciated consistently ✔ Given opportunities to grow They don’t look for exits... They build futures. But when these basics are missing, even the highest paycheck can’t make them stay. As HR professionals and leaders, we need to stop asking: “Why are employees leaving?” And start asking: 👉 “What experience are we creating for them to stay?” Because culture is not built in policies. It’s built in everyday actions. 💬 What do you think matters most for retention today — Pay, Culture, or Growth? #HumanResources #EmployeeRetention #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership Panseeds Career #Panseeds #HRCommunity #EmployeeExperience Pan Seeds #Agribusiness
