The people who work closely with you often see your potential — your ideas, effort, vision, and the person you are capable of becoming. They understand the journey behind the scenes, the struggles, the intent, and the growth that may not yet be visible to everyone else. The outside world, however, usually sees only accomplishments. It measures success through results, milestones, and visible achievements. Potential may inspire belief, but accomplishments create recognition. That is why both matter. Potential gives you direction, while accomplishment gives your efforts credibility. Never stop believing in your potential, but also remember to turn that potential into meaningful action. In the end, dreams earn respect when they are supported by consistent execution and tangible results. #TheBestIsYetToBe #PanasonicAutomotive #Mobitera

Apr 2026Let me know if you’re at MODEX2026 in Atlanta, I’d love to connect. All the cool electronic controls, automation and robotics. I’m like a kid in a candy store here.
Apr 2026Everyone wants to be transformational, but for many people the goal is purely transactional. Let me explain: As leaders we want to make a splash. We want and need the recognition that comes with it. It’s the vehicle that gets us to that next level. There’s the rub. The reason for wanting to make the splash, the motivation behind being transformational gets perverted into a way to get to that next level. It becomes transactional. When we’re transactional we don’t care about the cost as long as the payout is there. We lose sight of the human, emotional and financial cost, and start only worrying about the outcome to our careers, not to the company, our team or our industry. I recall a piece of timeless advice I read in “Bo’s Lasting Lessons”, which I’ll paraphrase like this “don’t do it for the next job, be the best at what you’re doing now. The next job will take care of itself“ When we’re struggling and frustrated because we’re not receiving the recognition, we think we deserve. We need to recalibrate and focus on the task and continue to deliver for the team (the team, the team). Even though you might be a four or five star player, not every game is your time to turn in a career performance. Sometimes you just need to enjoy your part in someone else having their career day. Their breakout moment. Over the years where I have been a leader and mentor I’ve watched many of my former employees become leaders themselves - all of them dedicated and great people. I’ve enjoyed watching their breakout moments and I continue to cheer for their ongoing success. As I reflect on my career and development, it’s sobering to take stock of myself, what I’ve accomplished, but also remind myself that the goal is not the transaction, but the transformation. Making everything better around me, my interactions and my response to challenges. Ensuring I’m doing what’s best for my team, company and industry, even if others might benefit from it more than me. Like everyone else, I’m a work in progress, but progress is the goal after all.
