“Yaar… I’ll never become a CMO.” He said this after 5 years in marketing. Not after failing. Not after getting fired. After launching products. Growing brands. Running campaigns that actually drove sales. But one sentence had defeated him quietly: “MBA nahi hai yaar mere pass…” And honestly? That insecurity is more common than people admit. This industry celebrates outcomes publicly… but privately, many talented marketers still feel “less than.” Less pedigree. Less network. Less credibility. Even when the work speaks for itself. That’s why spaces like the CMO Fellowship matter. https://lnkd.in/d9strm4b Not because they sell dreams. But because they expose marketers to how leaders at Google, Nestlé, AJIO, Emami, and Ogilvy actually think. And sometimes… clarity changes confidence. More than a degree ever could.

POV: Premium Auto Services in Bangalore!! ₹10 for fan access. ₹12 for cold water. Charging cable? Available as an add-on. And somehow… this feels weirdly familiar. Because this is no longer just an auto ride. It’s the same business model we see everywhere now: • Low entry price • Basic experience • Comfort becomes premium Airlines did it with seats. OTT apps did it with ad-free plans. Food delivery apps did it with “priority delivery.” Now even autos are unbundling convenience. What looks funny on the internet is actually a reflection of modern consumer behavior: People don’t mind paying more. They mind paying blindly. The auto driver understood something most brands still don’t: Tiny upgrades feel valuable when the core service already solves the problem. Honestly, this isn’t just a viral auto. It’s India’s startup economy… Parked at a signal. 🚕

Blinkit loses money… When your cart is below ₹199. Yes, that ₹30 chips order you feel smart about? Someone else is doing painful math. Because even on a small order, Blinkit still pays for: → Picking & Packing → Rider delivery → Payment charges Your cart is ₹120. Their cost structure isn’t. That’s why they keep nudging you: → Add ₹79 more for free delivery → Buy 2 save more → Checkout recommendations Looks like Marketing. It’s actually Margin recovery. ₹120 cart vs ₹260 cart? Completely different economics. 📌 Most businesses make one mistake: They chase more orders. Instead of better orders & higher AOV. Not every revenue problem needs more customers. Sometimes… it just needs one more item in the cart.

28 rejections. That’s what a student told me before our first call. From consulting firms. From MNCs. even from startups. He had strong academics. Decent internships. Good communication. But every application ended the same way: “No relevant fit.” After a point, he stopped saying he was job hunting. He’d just say, “Market is bad.” But the truth was harsher. He didn’t understand what founders/Hrs were actually hiring for. Most students don’t. They apply with generic CVs to roles that need ownership, speed, business thinking. We worked on his resume: → Reframed his experience → Prepared real case questions → Fixed how he told his story Three weeks later, he texted me: “Got shortlisted. Final round tomorrow.” Then next week message: “Offer confirmed.” Not the highest salary. Not the fanciest brand. But the first time he believed, “I can actually do this.” LinkedIn celebrates big logos. But sometimes the real win is getting your confidence back. If you're curious about High Growth roles, and don’t know where to begin, we’re hosting a free workshop. Comment 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 and I’ll send it.

That ₹2 platform fee you ignored… is now a ₹1,000+ Cr business. Small charges. Big scale. That’s the real game. What looked like a tiny extra charge became one of the smartest revenue models in India’s internet economy. 📌 Swiggy + Zomato showed how it works: → 2023: ₹2 platform fee introduced → 2024: Increased to ₹5, then ₹10 → 2025-26: Now ₹14.90 📌 Now look at the math: 2 million daily orders × ₹5 extra fee → ₹𝟭 𝗖𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆. And because delivery, discounts, and operations are already covered elsewhere, much of this becomes high-margin income. → Myntra added convenience fee (₹10-29 per order) → Amazon added marketplace fees (₹5 per order) 📌 Why customers accept it: → On a ₹1,000 order, ₹10 feels too small to fight. But across millions of transactions, it becomes massive. 📌This teaches one powerful business lesson: Customers resist big price jumps. They often ignore small add-on charges. So many companies don’t increase headline prices first. They improve unit economics quietly through micro-fees. Sometimes the best growth strategy isn’t selling more. It’s earning a little more from behavior people barely notice.

Last month, I was lying in bed at 11:47 PM. Lights off. One eye half closed. Scrolling aimlessly. Then I saw it. A concert I’d been waiting for. I sat up instantly. Checked dates. Imagined being there already. Then I clicked book. And just like that, the excitement became calculation. Should I spend this much right now? What if something comes up next month? What if I cancel later? I did what most of us do. Closed the app. Told myself I’ll book tomorrow. Tomorrow came with “Limited tickets left.” So, when I found District ’s new booking option. Pay 25% now to reserve the ticket. Pay the remaining 75% later. And if plans change, get a 100% refund until 10 days before the event. Honestly, it felt less like a payment feature… more like someone finally understanding how people actually decide. Sometimes we don’t need more options. We need less pressure.
