We have AI agents moving our cursors, navigating web browsers autonomously, and writing full-stack code. But we still don't trust them to buy a bag of chips. If an autonomous agent can't securely execute a basic transaction, it’s not an agent. It’s just a highly expensive search engine. 🔴 The tech world is obsessed with how well these models control our screens, but the real bottleneck is the backend payment plumbing. Behind the scenes, the major networks are racing to fix this exact gap so commerce isn't limited by legacy checkout flows. Visa and Mastercard are both validating this massive shift. Visa just rolled out Intelligent Commerce Connect this month, while Mastercard is pushing Agent Pay. Both are explicitly building the API infrastructure to let bots securely access token vaults and buy on behalf of consumers. This proves the rails are actively shifting from human-first to agent-first. 📉 But solving the checkout is only half the battle. If an AI agent executes the purchase, that same agent has to track the delivery. Bots can't read messy carrier updates or guess what a vague tracking status means. They need pristine, standardized logistics data to handle post-purchase exceptions without waking up the human. The payment networks are getting their infrastructure ready for autonomous bots. Are your supply chain and logistics data actually clean enough to feed one? #Logistics #AgenticAI #Payments #Ecommerce
