From Storage Innovation to AI Enablement, 25 Years in the Making. At Phison, one question has consistently guided our innovation: what’s next? Over the past 25 years, we’ve built a strong foundation in storage. But as AI began to evolve, it became clear that the next challenge wasn’t just performance, it was memory. Today, memory has become one of the most critical bottlenecks in AI. As models grow larger and more complex, traditional architectures struggle to keep up. GPU memory is limited, expensive, and often inefficiently utilized. This is exactly the problem we set out to solve with aiDAPTIV™. aiDAPTIV rethinks how memory works in AI systems by extending it beyond GPU boundaries, intelligently leveraging DRAM and flash to create a more scalable and cost-efficient architecture. From a system perspective, we’re also addressing cost at its core. By offloading expensive HBM and GDDR memory to high-performance flash, we significantly reduce the need for large GPU clusters, lower DRAM requirements for complex models like MoE, and keep data local, eliminating unnecessary data movement and associated costs. And perhaps most importantly, we bring AI back under your control. With aiDAPTIV, organizations can train and run LLMs entirely behind their own firewall, ensuring private data stays private, while enabling highly tailored, domain-specific AI applications. What makes this journey especially meaningful to me is how it started. Some of the earliest ideas behind aiDAPTIV came from internal exploration and contributions across the team, including young engineers and interns. Today, it has evolved into a platform that is actively powering real-world AI workflows. That, to me, reflects what Phison has always been about. As we look back on 25 years of innovation and step into our 26th year, aiDAPTIV represents more than just a new technology, it represents a shift in how we think about infrastructure for AI. The next 25 years of AI and data innovation won’t be defined by limitations. They will be defined by how we overcome them. Stay tuned for our upcoming blog post, where we’ll take a deeper look at Phison’s 25-year journey of innovation and the milestones that continue to shape the future of storage and AI. #Phison #aiDAPTIV #25YearAnniversary
Apr 2026From Data Centers to the Moon. As part of our 25-year journey at Phison, one thing has remained constant, we don’t just follow where data goes, we help define where it can go next. I had the opportunity to speak about one of the most exciting collaborations we’ve been part of, working with Lonestar Data Holdings to support the deployment of a hardware data center on the lunar surface. On February 26, 2025, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off on Lonestar’s Freedom mission, carrying a truly groundbreaking concept: placing critical data infrastructure beyond Earth. At the core of this mission are Phison’s Pascari enterprise SSDs, customized through our IMAGIN+ services to operate in one of the harshest environments imaginable. From extreme temperature swings to radiation, vibration, and the vacuum of space, this is storage engineered not just for performance, but for survival. But what makes this mission truly meaningful goes beyond the technology. For Lonestar, the moon represents something bigger, a resilient, off-planet repository for humanity’s most important data. A way to safeguard critical information against disasters, conflicts, and unforeseen events here on Earth. It’s a powerful reminder that infrastructure is no longer just about speed and scale, it’s about resilience and continuity. This aligns closely with how we think about storage at Phison. For 25 years, we’ve focused on building engineering-first solutions that are not only high-performance, but adaptable to any environment, from hyperscale data centers to industrial systems, and now, space infrastructure. As we reflect on 25 years of innovation and step into our 26th year, this milestone is a powerful reminder: the future of data will not be limited by location. And in many ways, we’re just getting started. #Phison #25YearAnniversary
