“To be a force for good” was the mission of North British Housing’s founder John Foulerton. I heard that first hand from Eric Armitage who worked with him. Paul Dolan and Riverside are exemplifying this with their Cook Off for Cancer fundraiser benefitting Young Lives vs Cancer . At Places for People we are supporting our sector friends by cooking a recipe each week from our PfP Cultural Diversity Cookbook. This week we are cooking Samantha pixley ’s fruity flapjack. I did a little research and learned that it originally referred to a flat, griddle-cooked pancake or tart mentioned in English literature as early as the 16th century, a definition still used in the states. The modern British flapjack—a chewy, baked oat bar containing butter and golden syrup—did not emerge until the 1930s. This is a very healthy version with a few less carbs and loads of whole foods. It’s a fun recipe (posted in the pics attached) and my family loved it. We added a few things and made it a dessert. Don’t forget to cook along and make a donation if you in you can by using the link in the comments. #COFC #CookOffForCancer #wearecommunity
Apr 2026“Things don’t get better unless you make them better.” Paul Dolan and Riverside are exemplifying this with their Cook Off for Cancer fundraiser benefitting Young Lives vs Cancer . At Places for People we are supporting our sector friends by cooking a recipe each week from our PfP Cultural Diversity Cookbook. Today we are cooking Kitesh Patel MBA ’s Chilli Paneer. I did a little research and learned that Chilli paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that originated in India, specifically created by the Chinese community residing in Kolkata. It is a fusion dish, taking Chinese cooking techniques (like stir-frying) and applying them to Indian paneer cheese to create a popular street food and restaurant appetizer. It’s a fun recipe (posted in the pics attached) and my family loved it. Apr 2026🎉4 years at Places for People 🎉 Honestly? Wild. A little bit chaotic. And something I’m incredibly proud of. From day one, this place has been about more than just the day job. It’s about being part of a business that’s a genuine force for good, where purpose isn’t a slide on a deck, it’s what drives the work (and the People behind it). I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the best humans around - making bold moves, building brilliant things, and yes, making some great sh*t happen along the way. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing 🤪 but that’s kind of the point. You figure it out, you keep going, you persist, and somewhere along the way, you realise just how far you’ve come. So, here’s to 4 years of learning, laughing, building - and to whatever comes next. Let’s go 💥 #BrandLady #TeamPfP #Anniversary #ForceForGood
