Lloyd's just announced plans to save around £2bn!!! through AI investment. With the likes of Amazon also increasing AI infrastructure spend to $220b, It definitely feels like the majority of CFO’s are focusing on integrating AI so that they don't get left behind. What I hear from CFO's is they want: • More efficient processes • Better integration between systems • Real-time visibility The alternative, sticking with the status quo and legacy systems with poor UX is leading to costly delays in data consolidation and reporting, which is then having an impact on the ability of business leaders to make informed decisions on strategy. I'll be keeping an eye out and posting more on how finance teams are moving with the times.
Aug 2026Your month-end shouldn’t start with “Has anyone got the receipt?” Because this means lots of chasing chasing, follow-ups & delays. The invisible admin no one talks about. I’m putting together a short 3-min video showing how finance teams use Pleo to make receipt capture super easy. If you’re in finance and this type of efficiency is something you’ve thought about in the past or actively looking into, just comment/DM me and I’ll send the video to you directly.
Aug 2026𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟯 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗜 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: 1. Budget tracker At the end of every week I dump all my spending, bills, car payments, holidays... everything. Claude automatically updates a budget tracker I built...using Claude, tells me where my money went, and keeps a month-on-month comparison so I can actually see where I'm improving (or not). 2. Investing I upload everything I invest in Trading 212 or crypto. It tracks my buys/sells, calculates my returns and shows what my different portfolio's could look like in 5-10 years if I keep investing at the same rate. 3. Whatever I've got going on that month This one changes. If I've got a trip or holiday coming up I use it to help me build an itinerary and find the best parties or restaurant spots. If I'm trying to eat better, in the past I've used Claude to build a weekly meal/shopping plan around my calorie targets. I've uploaded my Whoop, Strava & Strong (highly recommend this app for the gym and it's free!) data and get it to spot trends, tell me what's improving (again, or not 😂). If anyone wants an investment/budget tracker free of charge just drop me a message, happy to share.
Jul 2026Pleo has been recognised as one of CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026. It’s exciting to be part of a team that’s continuing to shape the future of finance & expense management. We have plenty of cool releases on the roadmap and I’m excited for that next chapter. #Pleo #Fintech #SpendManagement #Finance #Innovation #CNBC #Statista
Jul 2026I’m a little torn on sharing numbers publicly, but Q2: 286%!! If you’re wondering how? For me, it’s been all about mutual action plans. A clean, simple MAP keeps everyone accountable, means both sides know next steps, why they’re there, and what we’re working towards. No more “just checking in” and will be v important over summer when kids are off school, holidays and busy calendars can quickly kill project momentum. Talking of busy calendars…can anyone beat mine this week? 😅
Jul 2026I don’t think the real value in AI is replacing human thinking. It’s about freeing up time for better thinking. People who adopt + learn to use AI effectively will have a HUGE advantage over those who don’t. We’re still early, but the gap between people using it properly and everyone else won’t stay small for long.
Jun 2026One thing I’ve noticed over the last few years is how much finance teams are still expected to do manually. It’s easy to assume that’s just “part of finance”. Great to see Sabine Kropf sharing her experience with Pleo and the impact it’s already having on the team. Willkommen bei Pleo Sabine Kropf! 💳
Jun 2026Elena Verna says IC work is the new career flex. She's right about what's possible. But "I did it with just me, myself, and I" is a tell — not a proof. If doing it alone is the new flex, it means doing it through others was never credited the way it should have been. That's not a problem AI solved. That's a recognition problem we never fixed. And here's what the HI-C hype is quietly hiding: Every high-impact IC casts a coordination shadow — the alignment, direction, and context-setting that makes their autonomy possible. That work didn't move into the AI model. It moved upstream. Into the founders, the culture, the one senior person quietly holding everything together. Management didn't disappear. The ratio Manager/IC changed. The function didn't. I wrote about this in Monday Cake this week — what the HI-C trend actually reveals about broken recognition, and why the invisible conductor behind every soloist still matters. Article here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9gVudej Where do you land: does "I built it alone" feel like empowerment — or a reaction to never getting proper credit for what you built through others?
May 2026Winning President's Club for the 2nd time this week? Here's what actually made it special. Hear me out. It wasn't the trophy. It wasn't the stage moment. It wasn't even the number on the dashboard. It was the small things nobody posts about. A pizza with a colleague after a long day. A dance with my teammates from India that I'll never forget. A late night mariachi song from our Mexico crew that gave me chills. That's what President's Club actually feels like. Not the LinkedIn announcement. Not the "2x winner" in my headline. The real moments that happen in between. Here's what I've learned hitting club twice: - The people you celebrated with don't - The quota number fades from memory fast - The wins feel empty without people around you - The colleagues who danced with you remember it too - The random Thursday night pizza matters more than the gala dinner I used to think President's Club was about proving something. Proving I belonged in SaaS. Proving I wasn't the guy who struggled his first 6 months. Proving the doubters wrong. Now I know it's about something else entirely. It's about the humans you get to share it with. Different countries. Different cultures. Different stories. One team celebrating together. Pizza. Dancing. Mariachi at midnight. That's the real President's Club. Not the plaque. The people. I'll remember those moments long after I forget the exact number I closed. And honestly? That's exactly how it should be 👊 𝐏.𝐒.
