LinkedInArtificial Intelligence

In recent discussions about AI, the conversation has unexpectedly shifted toward Jira—specifically, how to use AI to bridge the gap between development workflows and the Jira platform. This made me reflect: Why is there such a heavy reliance on Jira? In reality, tools are neutral; the problem usually stems from flawed management logic. When there is an over-reliance on a tool to control every minor detail, two main side effects typically emerge: 1. R&D Attrition Caused by Over-Configuration In the pursuit of "process integrity," many organizations set up Jira to be incredibly complex. When a single ticket requires dozens of mandatory fields and a convoluted workflow, it essentially drains a developer's most valuable asset: focus. Administrative busywork should never be a barrier to delivering value. 2. Misalignment Between Metrics and Value The purpose of a tool shifts when management prioritizes Jira data for tracking "man-hours" rather than "delivered value." Excessive tracking of details forces teams to spend their energy on "crafting perfect tickets" instead of actually solving technical problems.

Every year at Zeppelin Power NL , we take a moment to put a few of our colleagues in the spotlight, those who’ve made an exceptional contribution to making our workplace safer. This year, we celebrated them with a fantastic evening on board the ss Rotterdam . Great company, a delicious dinner, and a tour of this iconic ship made it a night to remember. Big thanks to the people who step up, speak up, and truly make a difference in keeping things safe, both physically and socially !! #everydaysafehome #zeppelinpower
