Mike Stroka unboxes a 16 W power supply design for 800 V BEV systems. It provides one 14 V output for emergency backup power to the main traction inverter and three 23 V post-regulated outputs for high-side gate drivers. This compact design showcases the space-saving and reliability benefits of our 1700 V SiC-based InnoSwitch3-AQ switcher ICs. Download the design example report here: https://okt.to/OMnpgj

We just celebrated my daughter’s Master’s convocation ceremony last Saturday, May 9th, and watching her walk that stage made me reflect on the women who carried us to this moment. It began with my mother — the source of my discipline and resilience. She woke me before sunrise to study, stayed up late to keep me going, and sacrificed more than I understood at the time. My sisters were my steady support system, stepping in whenever life felt heavy and shaping me with their quiet strength. My wife became my true partner — holding the family together, putting her own goals aside, and supporting everyone around her. Her sacrifices may be unseen, but they are deeply felt. And then came my daughter. Her laughter lights up every room. She reminds me to live fully, no matter where you are or what you have. With her, I’m relearning the essentials of life — patience, grounding, and the legacy I want to leave. Seeing her at her convocation, confident and ready for the future, felt like the strength and love of all the women in my life coming full circle. Today, I celebrate them all. My mother. My sisters. My wife. My daughter. Four generations who shaped my values, my purpose, and my journey. Their love built the foundation. Their sacrifices paved the path. Their strength continues into the next generation. This Mother’s Day, I’m reminded that behind every milestone, there’s a woman who gave more than she ever asked for in return #MothersDay #Convocation #Graduation #Family #Gratitude #LifeLessons #WomenInspiringWomen #GenerationalStrength #ProudDad #Milestones

One of the easiest mistakes in AI system design is using a model when other methods would do the job better. I was reminded of that today by discussion around the reported Claude Code leak, where one detail stood out: the suggestion that at least some frustration or profanity detection may have been handled with regex rather than model inference. Some saw that as ironic. I see it as good engineering. It is easy to overuse the model simply because the model is available. But the strongest systems usually show more discipline: use rules when rules are enough, use software when software is enough, and use models where ambiguity, reasoning, or generation are actually required. The old rule still applies: use the right tool for the right job. The companies that build durable AI products will be the ones that know when not to use the model.

Luke James of EEPower wrote this great piece about our new #TOPSwitchGaN switcher ICs, which combines PI's #PowiGaN technology with our longstanding TOPSwitch architecture, pushing flyback topologies into the 440 W power range. "TopSwitchGaN preserves all the advantages (of flyback) while moving the power ceiling, creating a genuine inflection point for a topology that powers much of the world's consumer and industrial electronics."
