Today marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of something bigger. The mission of improving the human experience in healthcare continues!
May 2026Nurses are doing incredible work every day, but the environment around that work is more complex than ever. Our State of Nursing 2026 report gives us powerful insights to better understand that reality and, more importantly, to talk about what comes next. The data connects what leaders are seeing every day. Workforce pressures, safety, quality, and patient experience speak to one another. And the work to improve them has to be connected as well. My hope is that this report gives healthcare leaders a clearer view into what nurses are experiencing and what that means for care teams, patients, and families. Read the full report to better understand where the pressure points are and where leaders can act.
May 2026I’m looking forward to connecting with my colleague and friend Todd Angelucci BSN RN to discuss leadership, innovation, and the evolving future of nursing. Some of the best conversations happen when passionate healthcare leaders come together to challenge ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another. Excited for this opportunity and the conversations ahead. #NurseLeadership #HealthcareLeadership #NeonatalCare #NursingLeadership #meninnursing
May 2026Honestly, the more time I spend online, the more I notice how much I’m being nudged toward certain results. It feels like AI engines are quietly steering the experience — not in a dramatic way, but in a very real, very consistent and deliberate way. They’ve basically become the new gatekeepers, deciding what gets surfaced and what stays buried. And if that’s the world we’re operating in, then understanding how these systems think is going to be the key to making sure your organization actually gets seen. This article breaks that down really well.
May 2026Seventeen years of attending the US Navy ’s Submarine Birthday Ball, and it never gets old. Celebrating the 126th anniversary alongside my husband, Ekon George , and the men and women of THE greatest submarine force in the world is a privilege I don’t take for granted. Here’s to the legacy and many more years of honoring it together.
May 2026I really enjoyed diving into the nuances of finding care on Answer Engines with Sara Heath for this TechTarget feature. As Answer Engines like ChatGPT and Claude become the dominant mode for patients to find information online, health systems face a new challenge: Remaining visible and trusted in a world of conversational searches. Thank you Sara for the thoughtful conversation https://lnkd.in/gQk5JHhP
Apr 2026According to a recent AP News report, roughly one in four U.S. adults has used an AI tool for health information or advice in the past month, driven largely by the desire for quick answers, convenience, and help deciding whether care is needed. Importantly, most people say they aren’t trying to replace clinicians. They’re trying to prepare for or make sense of care. That behavior shouldn’t surprise us. Patients have been “Googling symptoms” for decades. AI is simply the next interface; faster, more conversational, and more confident in its responses. What does merit attention is what this means for health systems. When patients increasingly arrive with AI‑informed questions, interpretations, or decisions already forming, the work of care teams shifts. The issue isn’t whether patients should be using AI. They already are. The issue is whether our systems are prepared to: -Integrate AI‑informed conversations safely into care delivery -Detect and learn from AI‑related near misses -Set clear expectations about what AI can and cannot replace -Preserve trust when AI guidance conflicts with clinical judgment From a safety and reliability perspective, this looks like a familiar systems problem. New tools change behavior long before governance structures catch up. And when access, affordability, and time pressures push patients toward AI, the responsibility to design thoughtful safeguards falls squarely on the healthcare ecosystem. AI can absolutely support more informed, engaged patients. But without intentional safety infrastructure and learning systems around it, we risk embedding new failure points into care; often quietly, and at scale. Curious how others are seeing this show up locally: Are your organizations actively planning for AI‑informed patients, or simply reacting when it appears in the exam room? #AIinHealthcare #PatientSafety https://lnkd.in/er6_UCin
