I had a conversation recently with a CFO of a mid-market manufacturing company. He said something that stuck with me: "Alok, I keep hearing that AI is going to change everything. AI is going to wipe out white collar jobs. AI is moving at an unprecedented pace. But it's been 3+ years and I haven't seen any meaningful impact on my business." He's not wrong. And he's not alone. Most CFOs I talk to aren't skeptical of AI. They're skeptical of the hype. They've embraced AI-enhanced reporting. They love faster closes, smarter analytics, better visibility. That part landed. But when the conversation shifts to AI touching the numbers themselves, the actuals, the forecasts, the consolidations… the room gets quiet. Fast. Honestly... That instinct is healthy. Finance is a function built on trust, accuracy, and accountability. The CFO who demands human sign-off before AI-generated outputs reach the board isn't being Luddite. They're being a CFO. I believe the goal of agentic AI in the Office of the CFO isn't to replace human judgment. It's to extend it. The future isn't AI running finance. Alok Ajmera just shared the next massive leap for Prophix, and I couldn't be more excited. Just wrapped Presidents Club in Portugal. What a trip! One takeaway: get humans together. Karaoke, ocean, good food… the rest takes care of itself. Software will always be up for debate. The caliber of people in this group is not. Who knows when AI comes for us all, but until then, humans are still buying from humans, and this revenue team earns it every time.
