May 2026Yesterday reminded me once again how our Internal Firm Services teams really feels like family to me. Joining the IFS teambuilding day in Ghent where we supported River Cleanup and Serve the City Belgium was energising in the purest sense of the word. From rolling up our sleeves for a river clean‑up to preparing care bags for people experiencing homelessness, always with a collective spirit. It may sometimes feel like a drop in the ocean but many drops quickly fill a bucket, etc etc. So these initiatives do for me make a difference. Our Internal Firm Services team truly is one of the backbones of PwC. The way this community supports the firm, the business, our clients, and—most importantly—other team members deserves deep respect and gratitude. I’m incredibly thankful for the commitment, care and (often) quiet impact you deliver every single day. For me, it’s always been about “more we than me.” Collecting 436.20 kg of litter and filling 2,150 care bags for people in need is an incredible combined achievement. When you feel genuinely connected to what you do, engagement follows naturally. And when collaboration is real, it becomes a powerful source of energy. Working together—across roles, teams and perspectives—is a true fuel to the heart. Proud to be part of this. Proud of what we achieved together. Thank you to everyone who made this day count. #PwC #IFS #MoreWeThanMe #Collaboration #Engagement #ProudToBelong #ServeTheCity #TeamSpirit
Apr 2026For many years, I have been a strong advocate of upfront tax certainty and of constructive, trust‑based collaboration between taxpayers and tax authorities. Clear positions, early dialogue and transparency are, in my view, essential to managing tax risk effectively in an increasingly complex environment. Our 'Evening on Tax Certainty' clearly demonstrates that this view is now widely shared. The discussions showed how unilateral, bilateral and multilateral instruments are continuing to evolve and how they can play a meaningful role in providing greater predictability when used in the right way …and with the right mindset from both sides Many thanks to our speakers Tom Jansen, Filip Haes, Geert Stuer , Bernard de Gottal and Nicole Casey for their high‑quality insights, to all participants for the open and engaged discussion, to Jonas Van de Gucht for being an inspiring and fun co-host and to Isabelle Jacobs for the excellent organisation. It is great to see momentum building around tax certainty and I am convinced much more will come on this topic. #TaxCertainty #TaxGovernance #PwCBelgium #ThoughtLeadership
