Job Alert ⏰ I'm working in an advisory capacity with a strong healthcare SaaS company in the United States that has several very appealing roles open. These roles report to good people and you get to work with good people. Remote friendly. I'd love to see some referrals come out of my network: Director of Security - this is a direct report to the CISO leading the enterprise security strategy and executing across GRC & security engineering. (link in comments) Security Compliance Manager - drives security compliance and assurance, particularly maintaining ISO 27001, HIPAA and SOC 2 readiness. (link in comments) Senior Security Compliance Analyst - supporting the compliance program for the security team, aligned with the Security Compliance Manager. (link in comments) Follow the job links posted in the comments for background & requirements for each role. Reach out via DM if you have a referral to make or have applied to a role. These are unique opportunities to work in a regulated space that supports the largest biopharma companies in the world. 🚀 💊

Apr 2026Back when I was a Navy lieutenant* in Djibouti, I was still getting qualified in the JOC as a watch commander and starting my transition to the night watch. I remember waking up around 17:00 in a room that was already miserable from the heat due to a broken AC unit and a bad door seal when my CLU mate walked in and told me I’d been handpicked for an assignment in Uganda. I was leaving the next morning. No long handoff. No time to settle in. Just a few hours to pack, take in what I could, and step into something bigger than I had planned for. What I remember most is the feeling in those few hours: surprise, pressure, and a little pride. I knew I was ready for whatever challenges were coming, I just needed to be flexible and ready to learn. That stayed with me. It taught me that trust often arrives before confidence does. And when it does, you don't get the luxury of waiting until everything feels clear. You learn fast, steady yourself, and become useful as quickly as possible. In Uganda, that meant planning and executing complex movements across the country, assessing the security assistance program, and briefing senior leadership remotely. All of that in the first week. Different place. Same lesson. That is a big part of how I think about fractional CISO work. Clients are not looking for more noise. They are looking for someone who can earn trust quickly, download context fast, and help them make better decisions without slowing the business down. That is where I think I’m most useful. Not because I know everything on day one, but because I know how to show up, learn the organization quickly, reduce uncertainty, and be worth the trust I was given. * Mustache not included in fractional CISO services
