✅ Saying 'yes' is a powerful thing, and it can open opportunities you never even foresaw at the time. Today we’ve announced that Reach plc has acquired Affiliate North , but the chain of events might never have happened if I hadn’t said yes to a question way back in early 2025. 🤝 David Prior , who I knew from his Altringham Today and Prolific North work, contacted me and asked if I wanted to speak at Affiliate North, which he had taken over and was giving a reboot. At that point I’d only been working with affiliates for a bit more than a year. It had been a year of rapid immersion and learning, but nonetheless this was a bit out of my comfort zone. I’ve found the times when I’m most out of my comfort zone are the times when I’ve learnt the most. So doubts set to one side I said yes. Later in the year David and I caught up and I suggested the Reach x Linkby work would be insightful for attendees. Millie Talbot from Linkby was brilliant as we shared the stage and explained how we’ve built a fantastic partnership - see previous LinkedIn posts. My Reach colleagues Karen Brodie and Yusef Mirza and I learnt loads on the day from other speakers and it was a highlight of the affiliate events calendar for us. So when an email dropped from David saying he was was open to selling the event, I rang Karen and we immediately agreed - we’ve got to say yes. Let’s make this happen. A few weeks down the line and thanks to support from across the business and sign off from Maria Purcell the deal is over the line and we can share this exciting news. We are delighted to be able to build on David’s fantastic work to bring back Affiliate North 2026 to Manchester Hall on September 24. In planning the announcement I was looking through the event pictures and found a picture of me and Yusef laughing during lunch on the terrace. (I know Karen will be laughing off camera, as we took a selfie a few moments later). You know it’s a great day when you hang out with great people and learn stuff too. So if you want to get the latest insights from the affiliate world want to make new contacts, you know what you need to do - say yes! Early Bird tickets available now: https://lnkd.in/e9d9cx6M You can read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/enwTgkVX And if you've got something you have a burning desire to talk about or are interested in sponsorship opportunities do message me, Karen, Yusef, Nnenna Ofoche Gerda L. or Dan Makwana . Can't wait to see you in Manchester. 😀
May 2026It's not every day the team takes home a gold award. 🥇 But last night was one such occasion - and it's given everyone a real boost. Here at Reach plc we were chuffed to have made it as finalists at the Performance Marketing Awards for our work with Linkby ( Millie Talbot , Chippi Cope , Ashleigh Waters ) and Give Me Cosmetics ( Nicola Black and Dan Fletcher). 🏆 Now we're not just finalists, we're winners. 🏆 Huge shoutouts to Tom Capon , Yusef Mirza , Narin Flanders , and Karen Brodie who are really driving the partnership with Linkby. They are fantastic colleagues and care deeply about delivering for our audiences and our commercial partners. Tom and Yusef represented last night and I don't think those smiles have worn off yet. We've talked before about our partnership with Linkby and the judges comments confirmed how we see it too, by saying "This collaboration truly mastered the balance between editorial credibility and high-scale commercial impact with their winning entry". It's a fantastic achievement and I couldn't be prouder of you all. 🤩
