Yesterday I had the pleasure of participating in the panel "Powering the Future: Mexico's New Era of Energy Storage" at the LatinET Mexican Energy & Data Center Leaders Summit 2026. Great discussion with Jonathan Pinzon, Daniel Garcia, Abraham Garcia Escarzaga and Victor Manuel Fernández Pérez moderated by Rafael Diaz on the opportunities and challenges of scaling energy storage in Mexico. The main takeaway: the regulatory framework is now in place; the next step is creating bankable business models and revenue streams that can attract capital at scale. Mexico has a tremendous opportunity ahead, and it was a privilege to exchange views with such an experienced group of industry professionals. Thanks to LatinET and Nicolas Cano for the invitation and for creating such a valuable forum for discussion. #EnergyStorage #BESS #Mexico #EnergyTransition #ProjectFinance #Renewables 🔋⚡

Pulse 2026 just raised the bar. I went expecting the usual renewables conversation with the usual “we need to hybridize” and market issues. What I got was an AI awakening. Last year, AI was a smarter search tool. This year? Providers are using it across O&M, design, technical due diligence, legal due diligence , data analysis for the whole project lifecycle, price forecasting /trading and even management. Sophisticated, time-saving, and very real. Less developers this time, but more problem solvers 😉. The industry hasn't just caught up with AI. It's running with it. Beyond the sessions, the real magic happened in the corridors and coffee breaks : where I picked up insights I wouldn’t have found on any agenda, and made connections that I’m genuinely excited to build on. And as always, a special mention to the RatedPower team — warm, caring, and as welcoming as ever. It’s always a pleasure being around people who bring that kind of energy to an industry event. Jose Miguel Alcalde Sanz Pascale Abou Moussa Carla Coghen Rosich Daniel Oliveira Ming Cheng Alicia Herrera Alonso Javier del Pino Silva Gonzalo De Blas Pradillo Dennise García Maqueo (I’m sure I missed some mentions. Renewable energy is moving fast. Pulse 2026 was a great reminder of just how fast. ✅⚡️ Time for me to get cracking on a new mindset leveraging AI in renewables. #Pulse2026 #RenewableEnergy #AIinEnergy #RatedPower #EnergyTransition #CleanTech RatedPower

Jamaica became my 101st country, and it left an impression I’ll never forget. A few days ago, I was in Montego Bay, when Hurricane Melissa suddenly shifted course and hit the island’s west coast with devastating force. My flight was cancelled, the resorts were full, and I ended up staying in a small guesthouse without a restaurant or food service — together with two other stranded travelers. For a week, life slowed to its most basic form. Supermarkets were crowded and dark, credit cards and ATMs didn’t work, and every bottle of water and cash bill became precious. Fuel shortages meant five-hour lines at gas stations, and the island’s main roads were cut off. Our villa lost electricity, water, and half of its solar panels — but thanks to some quick repairs, we managed to keep the generators running and have limited power. That small light in the dark felt like a miracle. It reminded me that in island nations like Jamaica, solar energy is not just about sustainability — it’s about survival. When the grid goes down, the sun can still bring resilience, dignity, and hope. Seeing people lose their homes and businesses was heartbreaking. Yet the strength and solidarity of Jamaicans was deeply inspiring. It was a humbling lesson about what truly matters — and about how critical energy access becomes in times of crisis. Many thanks to the Spanish Consulate for their assistance (after five cancelled flights), and to Jamaica for teaching me that even in the darkest moments, the sun always finds a way to shine again. ☀️ Sometimes travel doesn’t just teach us about places — it reminds us of our shared humanity.
