Apr 2026I was at the spa yesterday at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota , trying to have a true disconnect, unplug kind of day. Work was the very last thing on my mind. Just as I got in the hot tub, I look up… and yep, see a RUCKUS Networks AP. It reminded me that when a network is doing its job you don’t think about it. You only notice it when it’s not. And I guess when you’re used to good networks, you still notice them… even in the last place you’d expect. Apparently, even spa days come with a little network perspective. 😆
Apr 2026Ask any hotel IT team what some of their most critical systems are, and two usually stand out: The PMS and the guest Wi-Fi. The PMS is the operational heart of the hotel. It manages reservations, check-in/check-out, room assignments, billing, housekeeping, room status, guest profiles, and more. The guest Wi-Fi infrastructure is just as critical. Today, reliable Wi-Fi has become one of the core utilities guests expect in a hotel. Guests expect to be connected everywhere and immediately, whether for work, entertainment, streaming, video calls, or connected devices in the room. The challenge is that these two worlds often operate independently. When they are disconnected, it usually means: ❌ Manual work for hotel staff ❌ Delays between guest check-in and network access ❌ Additional middleware or third-party integrations ❌ Extra costs and more complexity ❌ Guest frustration when things do not work immediately With RUCKUS Networks and the Property Management capabilities in RUCKUS One, integrated with Oracle OPERA PMS, hotels can finally remove much of that complexity. When a guest checks in and is assigned a room in the PMS, that information can automatically be shared with RUCKUS One. ➡️ From there, the platform can: ✅ Automatically generate a unique Wi-Fi passphrase for the guest ✅ Send it by email or SMS ✅ Allow the guest to connect securely using WPA3-SAE ✅ Automatically place the guest on the network segment (VLAN) associated with the room ✅ Provide secure access to in-room connected devices such as TVs, without impacting other rooms For the guest, the experience is seamless. For the hotel staff, it removes manual steps and reduces support calls. For IT teams, it brings automation, security, segmentation, and tighter integration between business applications and network infrastructure. Why should hotel staff still have to manually bridge the gap between these two critical systems? In 2026, this should become the norm, not the exception. #HospitalityTech #WiFi #RUCKUS #TheBarkingLot #Automation

Apr 2026TGR Haas F1 Team relies on live data for optimal performance. If that data is unavailable or untrustworthy, the car stays off the track.
