We did a thing! Scottish Widows were the headline sponsor of The National Allyship Summit yesterday and the London Stock Exchange, what an event! Male Allies UK What am I still thinking about this morning? You don’t need a big budget for Allyship to work, it’s in intentional actions EVERY SINGLE DAY. If Allyship only succeeds in favourable circumstances it wasn’t true Allyship. Going into room 101 are performative “awareness / celebration days”. Let’s get curious EVERY SINGLE DAY. So many impactful discussions that left me feeling inspired to keep showing up and keep doing more to help us close the gender pension gap. May 2026Really enjoyed today's Investment Association Private Markets Summit at DWS Group . Packed a massive amount into a half day, covering regulation, product design, a view of the LTAF market, spotlight on private credit, and some thoughts on the (bright!) future of private markets in the UK. And a few mentions of Savvy the Squirrel! The deployment of patient capital via private markets is a key focus for us as we look to support enhanced returns and portfolio diversification for investors, particularly for policyholders in the Scottish Widows Lifetime Investment Plus and Extra proposition. It will also provide long-term funding for the needs of the country's real economy - done well, private market investment could have a transformational effect. Exciting times ahead for this part of our industry. The Investment Association
May 2026Following a fantastic run of events across the North, we’re heading into our final Scottish Widows Adviser and Timeline session next week in Leeds. It’s been great to see such strong engagement at each stop — from insightful conversations around client engagement and behavioural coaching, to sharing practical ideas advisers can take straight back into their businesses. The feedback so far has been brilliant, and it’s clear there’s a real appetite for this kind of collaborative discussion. We’re excited to round things off at the The Queens Hotel Leeds and bring the series to a close. There are still a few spaces available, so if you’re in the area and would like to join us, feel free to drop me a message. #FinancialAdvisers #ClientEngagement #BehaviouralFinance #LeedsEvents
