When I immigrated to America, one of the first trips I made was to New York City. I still remember my dad’s friend taking us to the top of the World Trade Center. It was 1995, and as a 14-year-old boy who didn’t speak much English, I was captivated by the incredible view and sheer scale of what humanity could achieve. The events of September 11, 2001, remain deeply etched in my memory, as they do for so many of us. Nearly 3,000 lives were tragically lost that day, and countless others were impacted in ways that still resonate. I remember feeling the shock of seeing those majestic towers fall, knowing how much time and effort had gone into creating them. Today, as I commuted into the city, I was reminded of both the sadness of that loss and the incredible resilience that followed. New York City - and our nation - came together in the face of unimaginable adversity. It’s this spirit of resilience and the drive to protect one another that inspires me in our work at SecurityScorecard. Our mission to make the world a safer place is, in many ways, our contribution to this ongoing fight against those who seek to do harm. Never again! As we remember this day, let’s take a moment to honor those we lost and reflect on the strength that has carried us forward. I’m proud of the work we do to make a difference. We stand united against threats, and together, we will make our world safer !
Sep 2026A great culture isn’t one where everyone is always comfortable - or where everyone stays. It’s one where expectations are clear, standards are high, people are treated with respect, and ambitious teammates are promoted and trusted with more responsibility. At SecurityScorecard , the work can be intense. The feedback can be direct. But people should emerge stronger, more capable and prepared to lead. I’m proud that SecurityScorecard has helped develop so many future founders and leaders who continue to make an impact - inside our company and well beyond it. I shared seven principles for building a company that great people want to join in the latest Forbes article: https://lnkd.in/gtRZF4jr Check it out - curious what you think? #culture #team #security

Sep 2026Something VERY BIG is coming from the SecurityScorecard research team. We’ve been digging through the Driftnet dataset (driftnet.io) and finding connections across critical infrastructure that are… hard to unsee. Energy. Water. Healthcare. Shared dependencies. Cascading risk. It’s probably the coolest research I’ve seen in past ten years! More announced soon. #Cybersecurity #CriticalInfrastructure #SecurityScorecard #Driftnet
Sep 2026Starting to feel a little like a soap opera. :) We terminated a former employee “for cause”. We believe he then used SecurityScorecard IP related to work he had been doing here to try to build a competing company. That’s something we’ll prove in court. Meanwhile, even one of his own advisors messaged me - apologizing for his behavior: “I saw all this BS Jason had posted and it’s pathetic stuff really… it’s really unprofessional.” I’m going back to building great products and serving customers. The lawyers can handle the rest.
Sep 2026I’m very excited to welcome Sarah Walker to SecurityScorecard as our President. Sarah is a world-class operator who helped scale Slack, and she joins us at exactly the right moment. AI is changing the attack surface faster than companies can adapt. Vendors, software, identities — and now AI agents — are all becoming part of enterprise risk. Our mission is to make that risk visible, measurable, and actionable. I’m excited to build this next chapter with Sarah. Welcome to the team 🚀 https://lnkd.in/gYD5aMGg #SecurityScorecard #Cybersecurity #AI
Sep 2026A few years ago, I was lucky to meet Jeff Bezos at a national security gala. I asked him for advice on scaling SecurityScorecard . What stuck with me was not “grow faster.” It was almost the opposite: 1. Obsess over customers, not competitors. 2. Raise the talent bar with every hire. 3. Protect speed — bureaucracy kills more companies than competition. 4. Think long term when everyone else is managing the quarter. 5. Build culture into mechanisms, because slogans disappear under pressure. The biggest risk in scaling is not that you stop growing. It’s that you become slower, softer, and more political while convincing yourself you’ve become “mature.” Fast forward a few years, and AWS has become an important partner for SecurityScorecard. We’ve also adopted many Amazon-style operating principles in how we think about speed, ownership, customer obsession, and high standards. The best companies scale without losing their edge.
Sep 2026Books and cybersecurity are two of my favorite passions in life — so it was especially fun to bring the two together at the Books in Cyber conference. I had a fantastic conversation about The Perfect Scorecard and one of the ideas I still believe deeply: cybersecurity isn’t just about controls and technology. It’s about being able to translate cyber risk into a language that boards and business leaders can understand and act on. Thank you to the Books in Cyber team for having me and SecurityScorecard was happy to be a part of it ! 📚 Conference: https://lnkd.in/gZZcRuiZ 📖 You can download The Perfect Scorecard here: https://lnkd.in/gV3zuWWE #Cybersecurity #Leadership #CISO #Boards #Books
Sep 2026Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 I’ve got a few things smoking on the grill, so the important question is: who wants to come over for dinner? 😄 At SecurityScorecard , we spend a lot of time moving fast, building, shipping, and pushing ourselves. Today is a good reminder that great teams also need moments to recharge. Labor Day is about celebrating the work and taking the extra day to slow down, spend time with family and friends, and come back ready for what’s next! Hope everyone gets a little time to relax today. 🔥
