LinkedInArtificial Intelligence

Most people in finance are brilliant with numbers. But ask them to present those numbers and suddenly the slide is the problem. The layout feels off. The chart doesn't land the way it should. You know exactly what you want to say, but the slide doesn't say it. That was me. For three years. I'd been using PowerPoint regularly alongside Excel. But while Excel always did what I told it, PowerPoint felt like a constant negotiation I kept losing. Then I stopped trying to get better at PowerPoint and tried something else entirely. Here's what I do now: Step 1: I take my full context — the story, the data, the structure — and give it to a frontier AI model outside PowerPoint. I ask it to produce a slide-by-slide layout in plain text format. Simple. Clean. Easy to copy. Step 2: I open the Copilot chat window inside PowerPoint and paste it in. Step 3: I iterate. Multi-step prompting. A few back-and-forths. Then I make small tweaks myself. That's it. What I realised is that the problem was never PowerPoint. It was the gap between thinking in finance logic and working in design logic. This workflow bridges that gap. You stay in your lane the substance, the narrative, the judgment. The AI handles the translation into slides. The output isn't perfect first time. But it gets good fast. And the slides attached? That's the actual output. No designer. No agency. No template pack. Just the workflow. #CorporateFinance #AIinFinance #MicrosoftCopilot #Productivity
