When the city is waiting, you don’t build a roadmap. You build a solution. 🏗️ On Tamil New Year (April 14th), I shared that I was working on something. I started with a core belief: Civic problems require modern solutions. As a marketer, I usually find ways to talk about problems. This time, I went into a different mode entirely. I used AI as a force multiplier to build the solution myself in just 5 days. I essentially pulled a "hackathon" on my own life. The late nights, the constant iterations, the sheer intensity, that excitement feels surreal. It wasn't just about code; it was about building a civic infrastructure that Chennai deserves. That effort has now taken shape as Namma Kuppai . This isn’t just another app, it’s a public accountability layer for our Singara Chennai. Built to be Anonymous for Citizens and Transparent for Power, it turns passive observation into public action, removing the friction that usually stops us from speaking up. I bypassed the traditional development cycle and went straight to solving the problem. In less than a week, I’ve built something for the Chennai we grew up loving.💛 Tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM, we go live. Get ready. ✨ #NammaKuppai #Chennai #BuildInPublic #CivicAccountability
Apr 2026I learned more about my target audience in a 50-minute bus ride than I did in hours of data analysis. 🚌 Today I took a bus ride after a long time, it’s a 50 mins one. I felt it like a great learning experience.✨ 50 mins and no phone. Just observing things around. Nearly 40% constantly used phone, a pattern mixed with doom scrolling, watching celebrity - politician clips, bike ride, travel related clips and IPL. One pattern - no one used premium, they used free version watching ads in between. Ads are not that much better, most of it felt the same, seems polished by ai. Didn’t enter in my mind. Few women carried phone on their hands, most of the commuters used wireless Bluetooth headphones with neck bands. It’s the opinions, drama and sports based content that was being consumed based on my observation. Holding the bars and standing, observing the surroundings to make sure the things I carried are safe. Also learnt some key insights as a marketer, what more one needs than travelling along with the target audience. Have you ever had a moment like this while travelling? Then drop your experience in comments. 🤓
