May 2026If you missed yesterday’s post, here’s the key takeaway in one sentence: The future of work isn’t humans versus AI, it’s humans and AI working together. The organisations that will gain the greatest advantage won’t simply be those with access to AI tools, but those whose people are ready to use them effectively. That means investing in: • Learning agility • Critical thinking • Adaptability • Ethical judgment • Confidence with new technology AI readiness is quickly becoming a critical workforce capability. The question is no longer whether AI will transform work. The question is: Are your people ready to thrive alongside it? #AI #AIReadiness #FutureOfWork #Leadership #TalentIntelligence #SkillsFirst #SHL
May 2026AI is no longer just a tech skill, it is becoming a core way of thinking and working across roles and industries. The future of work will demand professionals who can use AI not just as a tool, but as a partner in decision making, problem solving, and execution. Those who develop this mindset early will see significant gains in efficiency, productivity, and impact. Organisations are already prioritising candidates who demonstrate AI readiness alongside domain expertise. The question is not whether AI will reshape work, but how quickly professionals can adapt to stay relevant. The time to build this capability is now. Curious to hear how others are seeing this shift in their industries. #AI #FutureOfWork #Efficiency #ProfessionalDevelopment #SkillDevelopment

The future of work will demand professionals who can use AI not just as a tool, but as a partner in decision making, problem solving, and execution. Those who embrace this shift early will not only increase their efficiency but also stay relevant in an evolving landscape. Those who resist may find themselves struggling to keep pace. The question is not whether AI will change how we work. It already has. The real question is: Are we ready to adapt our mindset, our skills, and our approach to work alongside it? #AI #FutureOfWork #ProfessionalDevelopment #Transformation
May 2026I would love your thoughts on the below shift that may happen! As someone who has the opportunity and privilege to work from home, I do think it’s important to consider this shift, especially as petrol prices continue to rise, along with our daily expenses. Inevitably, this also makes public transport more expensive. That being said, I do believe personal connections are important, and those are often built best through face-to-face interaction. There’s also the possibility of the “out of sight, out of mind” phenomenon when working remotely. However, when it comes to productivity, I genuinely believe many of us can achieve the same, if not even better, results while working from home.
May 2026Something very exciting is coming… 🎉 Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing more about a brand new Talent Mobility solution. Honestly? This is a big one. Since joining SHL this is the one I have been waiting for, because it helps everyone at work find out what types of roles are likely to suit them. 2 years in the making. Built through huge collaboration across product, design, engineering and delivery teams. And shaped by listening closely to customers and the challenges they’re facing around skills, mobility and workforce transformation. What’s it all about? Employees will get clearer insight into where they can go next 🎉. Heads of TA and other Talent leaders will see what talent they already have available or what they might need to buy in 🎉. Leaders get visibility of strengths, risks and skills gaps across the business 🎉. Using measured data 💪. This is about turning talent data into real business intelligence. A true first of its kind ❤️🎉. Watch this space. #Talentmobility #Futureofwork #Talent #SHL
May 2026AI won’t replace people. But people who know how to work with AI will transform the workplace. A recent McKinsey & Company article, The Rise of the Human–AI Workforce, estimates that more than 50% of current US working hours could be automated using technologies that already exist today. That statistic may sound alarming, but the real message is far more optimistic. The future of work is not about humans versus AI. It is about humans and AI working together. As AI takes on repetitive, administrative, and data-heavy tasks, the most valuable human skills will become even more important: *Critical thinking *Creativity *Judgment *Emotional intelligence *Leadership *Relationship building In other words, AI will handle more of the “how,” while humans focus on the “why,” the “what if,” and the “what matters most.” McKinsey estimates AI could generate nearly $3 trillion in annual value by 2030, yet many organisations are still experimenting rather than transforming. One line from the article stood out to me: “Speed is a strategy in and of itself.” The biggest risk may not be moving too fast with AI, but moving too slowly. For leaders, this is a pivotal moment. Success will depend on: *Redesigning jobs around skills rather than static role descriptions *Equipping employees to work effectively with AI *Investing in leadership, learning, and adaptability *Ensuring the benefits of AI are broadly shared At SHL, this aligns closely with what we see every day. Organisations that understand their people’s skills, potential, and readiness to adapt will be best positioned to thrive in this new era. The question is no longer whether AI will change work. The question is how quickly we can help people unlock their potential alongside it. #AI #FutureOfWork #TalentIntelligence #SkillsFirst #Leadership #HR #PeopleAnalytics #WorkforceTransformation #GenerativeAI #SHL #AIReadiness #TalentAssessment
May 2026In B2B SaaS, building lasting client relationships requires a fundamental shift: moving from simply "managing tasks" to "mastering influence". It goes far beyond executing daily tasks in Salesforce or managing complex workflows in Smartsheet. It is about cultivating true strategic partnerships from the front lines of Client Servicing. Here are four core practices every high-performing team should implement: 🤝 Foster Deep Partnerships: Despite the "Software" in SaaS, B2B relationships rely heavily on trust and personal rapport. Excellence means effectively balancing empathy with high-pressure delivery. 🎯 Become Business Consultants: Move beyond being just a "Product Expert" and step into the role of a true "Business Consultant". By aligning your daily efforts directly with the client's "North Star" business goals, you drive genuine value realization. ⚡ Drive Proactive Success: Ditch the daily "firefighting" and embrace Outcome Management. Instead of just tracking closed tickets, focus on leading indicators to ensure clients are constantly moving toward their desired outcomes. ⚙️ Cultivate Resilience & Process Design: High-performance requires "Psychological Safety". This creates an environment where the team feels safe raising risks early, which prevents both churn and employee burnout. Combine this emotional intelligence with proactive Process Design to identify and solve systemic friction points in the customer journey. Elevating client relationships means moving beyond basic task execution and instead "designing the environment where work thrives".
May 2026I can’t stop thinking about the risk of having the wrong people leading the UK. In business, we would never recommend selecting senior leaders just because they say the right things, are popular, or have the loudest voice in the room. Maybe they even interview well. We would want measured data. At SHL, we help organisations understand how leaders are likely to perform against the specific challenges they are facing. Because leadership is contextual. The person who is brilliant in a crisis might not be the right person for long-term transformation. The person who inspires confidence might not be strong on delivery. Personally, I’d love to see politicians go through something similar. Not to label people. But to understand who is actually equipped for the challenges ahead. And the person who looks good from the outside might carry risks you only see when you measure properly (🤔). The impact of poor leadership is huge. And right now, it feels like the country really cannot afford to get it wrong. #ContextualLeadership #EnterpriseLeadership #Leadership #SHL
