What a fantastic evening at the #NationalGRIP info session at #NTU , with close to 100 PhDs, researchers, and aspiring founders exploring the path from research to venture creation. 🎉 One of the highlights was hearing candid stories from three NGRIP founders Beatriz Ferraz , Prasanna Ravi and See Wee Koh who openly shared their motivations, uncertainties, failures, breakthroughs, and lessons from their entrepreneurial journeys. Their stories made one thing very clear that there has rarely been a better time to build a deep-tech startup in Singapore. The ecosystem today is significantly stacked in favour of researchers willing to take the leap 🧗♂️ ☑️Structured venture creation pathways like National GRIP platform ☑️Strong translational research support from NTU and ecosystem partners ☑️Access to seasoned mentors, investors, corporates, and global networks ☑️Early-stage grants, fellowships and university venture fund support ☑️A safe environment to experiment, fail, learn, and build again…till you succeed. One of the sage advice from Prof Louis Phee , VP innovation & Entrepreneurship resonated with many > For many young researchers, the risk-reward equation has fundamentally shifted. The downside of trying is lower than ever, while the upside of translating meaningful science into real-world impact is enormous. Singapore is steadily positioning itself as a serious deep-tech innovation hub and universities like Nanyang Technological University Singapore are playing a critical role in helping researchers move from lab to market with structured support, resources, and community.🎓 It was great to have the venture building team hand in hand for this mission led by Dr Manish Sinha and kudos to moderator Kat Neo 👍 Exciting times ahead for science entrepreneurs thanks to the vision and support of National Research Foundation Singapore and working with partners like National University of Singapore , Singapore Management University , A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research , Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Singapore Institute of Technology and Enterprise Singapore 🇸🇬 PS : Last date for National GRIP RUN 4 applications is May 31st, 2026. PM for your interest in persuing your science entrepreneurial journey or visit National GRIP website to apply directly. Best wishes! 🍀

What stood out most was the shift in mindset. Hospitality is no longer just about service efficiency but it is increasingly becoming a living testbed for personalization, predictive systems, and human-machine collaboration. Thanks to the organisers, speakers, and ecosystem partners driving these interdisciplinary conversations forward.
