Supporting local business isn’t just about where you buy your morning coffee; it’s about the strength of the ecosystem we build through our professional networks. I recently dropped by the new IGA at Carseldine Train Station—a venture opened by a friend (not the friend in pic haha, we went to try)—and it was a great reminder that the most impactful networking often starts in our own backyard. When we choose to support local entrepreneurs, we aren't just purchasing a service; we are investing in the people who drive our local economy and create community-centric innovation. Why Local Support is a Networking Superpower: 😊 Human-Centric Connections: Local businesses allow for face-to-face interactions that digital platforms can't replicate. It’s where genuine rapport is built. 💪 Strengthening the Ecosystem: When one local venture succeeds, it raises the profile of the entire area, attracting more talent and opportunities for everyone. 😇 Reciprocity in Action: Networking isn’t just about making contacts; it’s about showing up for people. When we support each other’s early wins, we’re creating a culture of loyalty that carries everyone further. Next time you’re looking for a meeting spot or a quick errand, consider looking toward your immediate network. Small choices create big ripples. Congratulations to the team on the new opening! If you’re passing through Carseldine, make sure to stop in and support a local success story. #Networking #SupportLocal #CommunityBuilding #Entrepreneurship #BrisbaneBusiness #LocalImpact

I promise to speak the truth and only the truth... I'll be doing 2 sessions tomorrow. They tell me what I say may influence how Microsoft are assessed by industry analysts... how exciting!

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the panel at the recent Why Not? event! 😃 For those who haven't come across it, Why Not? is a community that creates a dedicated space where students and young professionals can bridge the gap between ambition and action. It’s all about helping people navigate their own paths with more confidence. During the session, I shared some reflections on the networking side of the journey. I also walked away having learned a lot from my fellow panelists—particularly around the S.I.M. strategy: Self-Awareness 🏃♂️: Whether you are in Tech, Health, or any other industry, lead with your authentic self. Employers want to know who you are first; the technical capability follows. Involvement 🛜: Action over over-analysis. Find events and groups that align with your goals and get involved. It’s not just about contributing to a community; it’s about opening doors. The wider the net, the more opportunities you’ll catch. Mindset 💡: "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." This thought was reflected in everything the panelists shared. With the right mindset, they didn't just wait for opportunities—they embraced them. We often overcomplicate "networking." In reality, it’s about small, genuine interactions. One honest conversation can often do more for your career than a hundred cold applications. Huge thanks to Dev for spearheading this initiative and creating a space for these vital conversations. It was an honor to share the stage with Manmeet , Nikhil and Shivam — your insights on the graduate and career journey were a great reminder of how diverse the path to success can be. To anyone just starting out: don't wait until you feel 100% ready to reach out or take that next step. Most of the time, the clarity you’re looking for only comes after you’ve started moving. #WhyNotBrisbane #Networking #CareerGrowth #BrisbaneProfessionals #Students #PersonalBranding #JobSearch #CareerDevelopment #Community #GrowthMindset
