The hardest part of QAM-to-IP migration isn't the decision. It's the economics of getting there. Every operator I talk to understands the destination. The problem is the path. Historically, retiring legacy RF video infrastructure meant replacing the deployed STB base at the same time. Those two activities were tightly coupled, and that coupling created a difficult choice: Keep aging DAC/DNCS and QAM plant running indefinitely. Or absorb major upfront capex and operational disruption to replace millions of endpoints. Most operators have been living with option one longer than they'd like. What's shifting now is the ability to decouple those timelines. I'm working with operators who are looking to migrating the experience and application layer to IP and cloud execution while continuing to run existing deployed hybrid hardware. The box doesn't change. The experience does. For midsize operators, that changes the math in a few meaningful ways: faster QAM infrastructure reduction, earlier spectrum reclamation for DOCSIS capacity and upstream expansion, and a migration model that shifts away from large upfront CPE capex toward something more operationally manageable. What we hear consistently is that operators aren't shopping for another streaming platform. They're looking for a lower-cost, lower-disruption path to modern IP video architecture, one that doesn't require a truck roll to every subscriber before they can make meaningful progress on the infrastructure side. The hardware refresh cycle and the infrastructure modernization cycle don't have to move together. That's the insight driving a lot of the planning conversations I'm having right now. For anyone navigating QAM-to-IP planning: where are you seeing the biggest friction? Is it the CPE replacement economics, the QAM shutdown sequencing, or something else entirely? #Synamedia #SynamediaSenza #QAMtoIP #PayTV #VideoInfrastructure #DOCSIS
May 2026Not sure about the funny looking fella in the corner, but the very practical deployment of AI I like. Yet another example of the team at Synamedia constantly innovating and leveraging AI in a robust and meaningful way.
May 2026Danilo hiding much of his light under a bushel again. If you’re at NAB get yourself over to the Synamedia stand and say hi. There is so much going on with Iris this year it’s crazy!
Apr 2026First day is rocking’ at NAB 2026 at the Synamedia booth with DJ E ( Ehren Stowers ) mixing things up with the beats and our launch Quortex AI and the game changing Quortex PowerVu Distribution platform. Came have a beer with us and let’s talk about the future.
Apr 2026Coming to Vegas for NAB just wouldn’t be the same adventure without this incredible marketing team. From last-minute sweet shopping, to dealing with a broken car, to making “strategic” bulk purchases… and carefully transporting suitcases full of goodies for our C-band transition party at the Vesper Bar (all perfectly legitimate, of course 😉), it’s always an experience! And while we’re here, a huge thank you to the team back home (Elna, Nat, Julien, Margaux, Gilles, Stephane,...) who keep everything running and support us every single day—we couldn’t do it without you. And of course, this team extends beyond Synamedia—big thanks to our partners in PR ( Breakaway Communications ) and videos (ROAR!) 👏 NAB hasn’t even started yet, and the stories are already stacking up!
Apr 2026We are getting ready with the Synamedia team for NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas and looking forward to welcoming everyone at West Hall, W2851. Final tuning is underway, the team is nearly set, and we are ready to get started tomorrow. And yes, you can win our Golden Synamedia Quortex Tune guitar, featured in the video. See you in Las Vegas.
Apr 2026You know it’s NAB when you’re queuing at 11am—or even 4pm—for a bagel. When the most important thing about your shoes is that they’re comfortable. When you’re paying $18 for a glass of Chardonnay, and your room is bigger than your first student flat ; ) This is Vegas. You hate it as much as you love it. 😉 Day 1 before the show—already great to be back and running into old friends and colleagues in the long corridors of the Las Vegas Convention Center. See you out there! Synamedia 's booth is in West hall ; )
Apr 2026Looking forward to speaking at the #NABShow 2026 as part of the BEIT Conference in Las Vegas. I’ll be presenting the subject of my NAB BEIT paper: “Affiliate Edge Playout: Powering the Future of Channel Creation” 📍 Sun, April 19 | 🕑 2:10–2:30 p.m. | 📌 N256 As broadcast moves toward IP and cloud, we’re rethinking how linear channels are created and regionalised- shifting from centralised playout to edge-based, manifest-driven assembly. If you’re exploring the future of channel creation and distribution, feel free to join. I’d love to see you there! https://lnkd.in/epcRED67 Paper abstract: https://lnkd.in/eHRmkzKv #BroadcastEngineering #IPVideo #Streaming #nab #MediaTech Synamedia
Apr 2026Heading into a busy week with StreamTV in Lisbon and NAB right after, it feels like a good moment to reflect. It has been 10 months since I stepped into a broader leadership role at Synamedia , and recently we brought together Media Cloud Services and Media Technology into one unified team. Early days, but we are already seeing the benefit of working as one team and combining the strengths of the portfolio. We are very focused on building products and solutions that help our customers attract audiences and monetize effectively. • Synamedia Senza Ignite. Bringing cloud, GPU and AI driven experiences to existing devices 🚀 • Synamedia Iris. Evolving into an agentic AI platform for discovery, insights and monetization 🤖 • Expanding our ecosystem through partners 🤝 We are seeing strong traction: • YES in Israel selected Iris • MTN moving forward • Partner Communications launched with Synamedia Go • Mileto Tecnologia partnering with us More discussions are converting into real opportunities. I believe this industry needs bold players that create future audience experiences, while staying reliable and commercially competitive. This is what we are building at Synamedia. This week I will be in Lisbon at StreamTV, and then at NAB. If you are there, I would really enjoy connecting. Come see the demos, you will find things that are different 👀 See you in Lisbon and Las Vegas. #SynamediaNAB #Innovation #AI #Cloud #MediaTech #Streaming https://lnkd.in/d6xbS85X
