May 2026I’m excited to step into the role of the National Co-Lead of the Construction Litigation specialty group Miller Thomson LLP , alongside my partner in Edmonton, Mark Alexander . I would like to thank Riccardo Del Vecchio for his outstanding leadership over the past several years and for everything he has contributed to the group. I look forward to this next chapter in my career, working with our teams across the country, and to continuing to support our clients on their strategic mandates, notably in construction litigation.

May 2026His Excellency Lim Ki-mo, Korea's Ambassador to Canada, graciously hosted me for lunch in Ottawa on May 11, 2026. With him was my friend Kim Hejin, Minister-Counsellor representing the Republic of Korea in Canada. At the top of the agenda was the $70 billion that Hanwha Ocean and other Korean businesses plan to invest in Canada, if Canada proceeds to partner with Korea on the patrol submarine required for the Royal Canadian Navy | Marine royale canadienne .
May 2026With General Wayne Eyre in Ottawa on May 11, 2026. He is now retired from his position as the Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada from 2021 to 2024. Prior to that, he was Commander of the Canadian Army and Chief of the Army Staff. In 2018 and 2019, he served as the first non-American to serve as deputy commander of the United Nations Command in the Republic of Korea. During that time, he was part of the military presence during the meeting between President Trump and the President of North Korea. Famously, President Trump briefly crossed over into North Korea. Details of that event and many others during his 40 year career may be found in his memoir, scheduled for release by the publisher in October of 2026. It is titled: "Into the Breach: A Soldier's Journey." General Eyre was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan and was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 1988. Thank you General Eyre for speaking at a meeting hosted by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and thank you for your inspiring service to your nation.
