Join my talented colleagues Harriet Baldwin and Cassie Pepers at midday next Wednesday 20 May 2026, for a Women in Data lunch and learn as they talk about their work on the Marine Delivery Routemap. It’s free to register and you’ll get to hear all about how they are spatially mapping sustainable use of the seabed out to 2050.
May 2026Just a reminder to hiring managers. A residential facilities manager can successfully transition to commercial spaces because the core competencies—health and safety compliance, vendor management, and preventive maintenance—are highly transferable. Both sectors require strict regulatory adherence, budget control, and daily operational troubleshooting. Managing a residential facility is often considered harder than commercial management because it involves highly emotional stakeholders, 24/7 emergency demands, complex tenant turnover, and strict, constantly changing housing regulations. Thankfully I have experience in both but am still subject to exclusion as an applicant for managing commercial buildings.
