📣 The Global Fund has supported Nigeria’s rollout of the long-acting lenacapavir (LEN) for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) 💉💊, and I had the privilege of being part of this effort and joining partners at its national launch during my last visit. What stood out at the launch was strong government commitment to HIV prevention and the power of partnership across government institutions, Global Fund implementing partners, civil society, and global partners —making it possible to introduce this innovative product at record speed. 🤝 LEN PrEP expands HIV prevention choices: a highly effective, long‑acting option that reduces the burden of daily adherence and helps reach people who have been left behind by existing tools. As one of the early adopter countries, Nigeria is well positioned to lead implementation at scale. This marks a new chapter for HIV prevention—innovation, equity, and partnership in action. Last week, the Global Fund and the United States expanded the commitment to scale up access to long‑acting LEN PrEP, with a joint ambition to reach 3 million people by 2028. We remain committed to supporting the fight against HIV 💪
