Apr 2026[EN 🇺🇸] At Agile 2019 I had the honor of meeting and talking with Troy Magennis in person. His work on flow metrics and forecasting has been a reference for me for many years. Today I was making some decisions on a forecasting feature I'm building, and I kept thinking about what Troy would say. So I gathered everything he has published publicly. His site, articles, talks. Then I asked my friend Claudio (Claude Code) to run a "simulated brainstorm" with Troy, using his own material. Of course it's not the same as sitting across from Troy. But the guidance I got was excellent. Claude pulled specific references Troy has written, applied them to my context, and pushed back on my assumptions with the rigor Troy himself would bring. It made me realize something. We owe an enormous thank you to everyone who produced original, substantial content before the AI era. All those blog posts, papers, conference talks, open source contributions. That is exactly the raw material that makes conversations like this one possible today. AI doesn't create expertise. It amplifies whoever shared theirs first. Thank you, Troy. And thank you to everyone else who wrote in public when there was no AI to read it later. :D #FlowMetrics #Forecasting #ClaudeCode #Agile #Kanban
