My revenue has DOUBLED 3 months in a row. But my impressions haven't moved Last month I had 20+ discovery calls. Not through ads, not through going viral. I went out and found the RIGHT people and talked to them like a human every single day in the DMs The math is simple Five real conversations a day gets me, at minimum, one solid discovery call. One call a day is 20+ calls a month. That's a full pipeline, built without a single spike in impressions required There is nothing more powerful than DMs on LinkedIn right now. Especially for wealth advisors. Most advisors are optimizing for the wrong number. They're watching reach, likes, follower count. Waiting for inbound. Waiting for the algorithm to do the work. Impressions tell you how many people may have viewed your post, or may have scrolled past it. Conversations tell you how many people are interested. Only one of those numbers actually grows the business

May 2026A prospect told me my message felt like I'd been reading his emails. I'd never spoken to him before. Because I asked the RIGHT question Most questions reveal nothing about the person asking them. "How's your pipeline looking?" tells the prospect you know their job title. That's it. The question that actually moves a conversation forward is the one that makes the prospect stop and think Here's what I mean. When you know your ICP deeply, you can ask questions that already contains the answer. You know the specific version of the problem they’re facing, with their exact client base, in their exact situation So your question is loaded with context. The prospect reads it and immediately feels understood. It does 2 things at once It shows the prospect that you're not guessing. You've been in enough of these conversations to know what they're dealing with before they've told you. Second, it gets them to say the thing out loud. You create the conditions for them to arrive at the answer. It becomes real in a way it wasn't before. I built this entire approach around one idea. The advisor who names the prospect's problem first, and names it precisely, is the one they trust Not the most qualified. Not the one with the most credentials. The one who made them feel like they'd already been understood before anything was ever asked of them. That's what the right question does. It's not a question at all. It's proof.
May 2026The Backyard Sports story sounds like fiction: Former Chicago Public School teacher Lindsay Barnett hired a public investigator to secure the rights to her favorite lost sports game IP, and as CEO of her new publishing company Playground Productions teamed up with James Deighan and retro-focused indie studio Mega Cat Studios , who had been campaigning to work on the brand. Together, they managed to reverse engineer 6 lost titles in just 2 years: rekindling a community's love for a lost franchise and paving the way for a 7th modern chapter. Oh, and there's an animated special now? But what's not fiction is the deep, lifelong passion these two CEOs have for the brand they've brought back from source code obliteration - and the uniquely positive cross-company partnership that's helping them get through the unexpectedly long hours of porting 6 old CD-ROM games onto every platform imaginable. In this groundbreaking season finale of Season 2 of #EnduringPlay , we head into our 11th inning with two guests for the first time, exploring topics like education and accessibility in games, reverse-engineering retro games, the SCUMM engine, transmedia gaming universes, the timeless appeal of secret weapon Pablo Sanchez, the challenges of moving from retro titles to a modern, dateless release, the boundless positivity of the Backyard Sports community, and so much more. I'd originally only planned on 10 episodes this season, but this conversation was too important to pass up - and we all get to glimpse the rare moment in time between their demo and their launch as these two partners navigate the complex space between learning from experience and applied knowledge in the field together. #EnduringPlay is a human-crafted #gamedev podcast I create and host myself, inspired by my book The Game Development Strategy Guide, designed to give veterans new insights while bringing new developers and gaming fans along for the ride with plenty of context, tutorials, and "narrative cutscenes". You leave every episode with new and actionable insights that will not just make your games better, but your game TEAMS better. Listen to all 11 episodes of Season 2 of #EnduringPlay on all major podcasting networks, or check it out at enduringplay dot com. Show notes page with reference material, embedded episode, transcript, and more: https://lnkd.in/gkxJtji9 Don't forget to follow Enduring Play on your favorite podcasting network so that you'll be the first to know when Season 3 drops. I'm researching potential topics: friendslop? User-generated content platforms? The Modern Motivators of Play? What do you want to learn more about in S3? HUGE thanks to Lindsay, James, & all my guests for coming on the journey. #backyardbaseball #backyardsports #pablosanchez #classicgames #retrogames #sportsgames #videogames
May 2026Any advisor who tells you to focus on content over cold outreach is WRONG They’re giving you a strategy built on luck There are advisors posting consistently, building a following, putting out content week after week. And their pipeline is empty. Because posting into the void and hoping the right person sees it and reaches out is not a strategy. It's a lottery ticket. LESS than 1% of advisors on LinkedIn generate real inbound from content The rest are publishing the same posts I scroll past every single day. The market is flooded with identical takes from identical profiles and none of it is moving the needle. So the advisors who tell others to focus on content are painting over the real problem. Most advisors don't have a true lever to pull. They post and hope. They pitch in DMs and get ignored. They wait for referrals. They show up to in-person events. All of it relies on something outside their control going right. That is the definition of luck. Cold outreach, done PROPERLY, removes luck from the equation entirely. Not the cold outreach most advisors do: blasting templates and hoping volume saves them. Real cold outreach. The kind where you know your ICP so deeply that the conversation doesn't feel like outreach at all. Where you're asking the questions that hit the real problems they're sitting with, often ones they haven't fully named themselves. Where the prospect feels understood before you've asked for anything When you master cold outreach from a RELATIONSHIP standpoint where you find the real problems prospects are facing, there is 0 luck involved. It's a consistent lever you can pull. Five to ten real conversations with your ideal prospects. No posts into the void. Actual 1-on-1 conversations with real people who have real problems you know how to solve. An advisor who needs clients in the next 6 months doesn't have 6 months to wait for an algorithm to deliver them. Proper cold outreach is the only repeatable growth strategy. Everything else is just hoping things work out.
May 2026This story from Desirée R. 's work at Gold Star Gamers took my breath away. It's so easy for folks to dismiss gaming as a time waster, but when you really look at how kids - and adults - use gaming today, it's so much more. It is a way to connect with each other. To build third spaces with structure to navigate social conversations when the world is falling down around us. To give us a way to cope with grief and joy together. Video games are far more than a diversion. They are a connective tissue for multiple generations of gamers. Don't miss Season 2 Episode 10 of #EnduringPlay (and if you want to learn more about how Minecraft creates safe spaces for kids and families, check out Season 1 Episode 2 with Minecraft's Director of Trust and Safety Carlos Figueiredo .) From S2 E10: "We primarily use video gaming in Gold Star Gamers because video games, as anybody in our industry can tell you, they obviously speak to us. Video games are something everyone can relate to. So we basically kind of come to their level and reach kids in a medium that they understand fully. They play video games, and in doing so, they play with each other. They oftentimes will talk to each other. We have a Discord by the by that fully monitored. Every adult that is in this Discord has been background checked and vetted. We we make sure these kids remain fully secure. We play video games together as a community. We have a dedicated Minecraft server. The kids will go into this Minecraft server and build monuments to their parents." May 2026I am delighted to be speaking on behalf of Benenden School at the Independent Schools Show this week on the benefits of looking at schools outside of London. As a school that’s fortunate to have 250 acres of beautiful countryside with some outstanding facilities, Benenden’s stunning environment - combined with it’s renowned innovative curriculum as part of our Complete Education- is incredibly appealing to many London families. In fact, a third of our students come from the city, so please do come along to find out more about the out-of-London option for your child’s future.
May 2026Not every client gets the same version of me. That's not something most consultants would say out loud. But it's the truth (for almost all of them). For me, pretending otherwise would mean lying to the people who actually show up I keep a live ranking of every client I work with. I track EVERYTHING. Who's going through the modules, who's sending me screenshots for feedback, who's on every call, who's asking questions, who's acting on what I give them. The advisors at the top of that list get more of my time and energy, more of me in general I'm still delivering for the ones who are slow, delayed, and do the bare minimum. But I'm not going to out-effort them. That's not how this works. And I want to be clear about why It’s not gatekeeping or playing favourites. It's about the reality that effort compounds on BOTH sides of a relationship. When a client is all in, every conversation moves faster. Every piece of feedback lands harder. Every win builds on the last one. The relationship itself becomes a growth lever. When a client isn't all in, even the best strategy in the world moves slowly The strategy is only ever as good as the person executing it. The advisors I've seen get the best results aren't always the ones who came in with the most experience or the best niche or the most polished profile. They're the ones who treated every single thing I gave them like it mattered. They’re sending me messages at 9pm because they’re in a live conversation and need a second opinion NOW. That's what I optimise for The client I want to work with. If you're thinking about investing in yourself and your business, that's the question worth sitting with. Not whether the program is right for you. Whether you're the kind of person who shows up the way this requires. Because when that's there, I know how it ends.
