I decided to wait a little bit before posting this, but I am sad to announce that I’ve been impacted by the layoffs you’ve undoubtedly been hearing about at The Walt Disney Studios . This job was a dream come true, getting to go in every day and have my encyclopedic knowledge of comics, or my love for my favorite Star Wars characters, be a strength I got to regularly lean on, and be a strength that was valued by those around me, was an incredibly special feeling. But what ultimately made working there special wasn’t the IP, the comic books, or free theme park entry, it was the team, who are some of the funnest and most creative people I’ve ever met. Areeba Zafar , Ashley Morton , Justine Hong , Haley Conatser , Jasmine Livingston , Autumn Thompson , Lorraine Cink . You have all been the best and I count myself so lucky to have gotten to work with you! I’m going to take some time to lick my wounds and relax before I hit the job search grind in full force, including figuring out what the next dream job is. But I’m looking forward to taking this time to reinvest back into myself. As one can probably expect, working at the largest entertainment company in the world requires you to give a lot of yourself to the job, and so I’m excited to see what I can do now that I can use that time on me. Toonuki Lab continues to grow, and I’ll be at VidCon this year if anyone would like to meet up to chat. Some projects I was heavily involved with will be coming out across the summer, and so I will still be posting them excitedly because, at the end of the day, I am so insanely proud of the work we all did across them. You’ll be able to tell which ones I pitched haha. Until then, if you’d like to help, feel free to send me any roles you think I might be interested in. I bring 8 years of YouTube experience to the table, ranging from creator management to content strategy and creation. If you’re interested in working with Toonuki Lab, we’re always open. We’ve worked with a few brands before, and I think we can bring a really fun, bespoke experience to brand partnerships. And if any of my fellow colleagues who were also impacted would like to chat, I’m always here. We all did really amazing work, and as hard as this is right now, we should all be really proud of what we accomplished. Till next time web heads.
