Apr 2026Something nobody talks about enough in HR: You don’t need to have everything figured out to support your people. But the more grounded you are, the better you show up for them. The most effective HR professionals aren’t just policy experts. They are self-aware individuals who know how to manage themselves while supporting others. This is where Emotional Intelligence matters. As Daniel Goleman highlights, self-awareness and self-regulation are core professional skills, especially in people-facing roles. Because every day, HR professionals handle conflict, anxiety, burnout, and uncertainty. You won’t always feel calm. But how you manage your reactions makes all the difference. The HR professionals who truly shape workplace culture: • Stay composed during difficult conversations • Don’t let situations define their self-worth • Understand that wellbeing supports performance • Practice patience with others and themselves Growth takes time. And people-first cultures take consistency. It starts with the person leading it. #HR #PeopleFirst #EmotionalIntelligence #WorkplaceCulture #HRJourney

Apr 2026Winter 2026 Internship Program As our winter internships come to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize an incredible group of interns who made a real impact during their time with Weitz. All of our interns joined us from BYU–Idaho and hit the ground running—contributing to active projects, strengthening our teams, and bringing curiosity, professionalism, and fresh perspectives to everything they touched. For their final presentations, the group came together in Northern Virginia, traveling from project sites across the Midwest and the South. It was a great opportunity to reflect on their growth and experiences, take part in a behind-the-scenes site tour, and wrap up the semester with networking and a fun send-off featuring mini golf and bowling. Thank you to our interns for your hard work and dedication, and to our managers and peer partners for your time, mentorship, and support. Wishing each of you continued success in what’s next!
