For most of my career, I was an excellent… worrier! Deadlines. Competitors. Difficult customers/partners. The deal that might not close. I watched all of them with great, exhausting dedication. Then this stopped me in my tracks: “The sheep spends its whole life fearing the wolf. Yet in the end, it’s the shepherd who eats it.” Two things hit me. 1. the betrayal hiding in plain sight. The trusted one. The familiar face. The hand you never thought to watch. 2. and this landed harder: the wolf never came for the sheep at all. All that fear. All that vigilance. Aimed at entirely the wrong target. Worry doesn’t protect you. It just keeps you busy while life happens elsewhere. Decades in, the lesson is simple: the wolf was never coming for you -- it was busy elsewhere. Stop feeding it your peace of mind. And, watch the shepherd. #CareerLessons #WorkplaceWisdom #Mindset #ThoughtLeadership
May 2026There is NO PREFECT holiday ! i got back from my annual holiday last evening; it was not the most perfect holiday I can describe. But the hangover remains; - I woke up on a bed that felt different and a slimmer blanket; oh man what happened to my hotel room; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - I walked up to a shower looking for fresh dental kits and toiletries; my home brush was blushing at me; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - I walked out looking for my holiday linen's; it was an office white shining at me; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - I walked looking for a poolside breakfast buffet; my juicer and toaster stared at me; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - I walked out of the gate, looked for my holiday driver and a rickshaw honked at me; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - I tried dragging a suitcase and it was my laptop bag pulling me; YOU ARE BACK HOME. - Beeped the first message on my office group; lets catch up for a quick de-brief; WELCOME BACK HOME ! Well if the holidays were perfect, you wouldn't need them.... that's why they are holidays, sacred for the soul and filled with surprises....as no surprises are perfect....and hence it's a holiday. May 2026What are the specific topics you should focus on to level up your understanding in Econometrics? When you are dealing with real-time markets, economic data, and complex variables, standard regression models often fail. The real edge comes when you learn to practically apply heavy concepts like Time Series, Volatility Modeling (GARCH), and Bayesian Inference. For a while now, to make my foundation even more solid, I’ve been compiling a complete, end-to-end Econometrics Roadmap & Syllabus. And today, I’ve finally wrapped it up! I've covered everything in this document: 🔹 Basic Statistics & Probability Theory 🔹 Classical Linear Regression & Heteroskedasticity 🔹 Advanced Time Series (VAR, Cointegration, ARCH/GARCH) 🔹 Bayesian Inference & Monte Carlo Methods This isn't just a syllabus; it's a roadmap for anyone looking to level up in data analysis, financial modeling, or macroeconomics. Diving this deep requires serious discipline, but the grind is always worth it. If you want the Google Doc link to this comprehensive roadmap, just type "SYLLABUS" in the comments, and I’ll DM it to you! #Econometrics #DataAnalysis #QuantFinance #TimeSeries #MachineLearning #FinancialModeling #ContinuousLearning #Mindset
Apr 2026Anthropic offers engineers salaries exceeding $750,000 annually to comprehend the workings of large language models (LLMs). In a remarkable move, Stanford has released a two-hour lecture that covers 80% of this knowledge for free. Consider dedicating two hours today to this resource. It could yield one of the highest returns on investment you make this month. Link - https://lnkd.in/ggBxV_jW
Apr 2026Use AI as a co-pilot, not a driver… Are we using AI… or is AI starting to shape how we work more than we realize? -AI works best when you bring clarity, not dependency -The quality of output is directly proportional to the quality of input -Domain knowledge still matters—AI can assist, but not replace judgment -Speed is improving, but depth still requires human thinking Instead of asking AI to “do the task,”you should: -Framing better questions -Validating outputs more critically -Adding my own context and experience before finalizing decisions AI is powerful, but without direction, it is just fast. #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation #Productivity

Apr 2026Cartel? You’ve probably heard the term. If not, let’s break it down. In a normal market, when two competitors fight, who wins? We do, "the consumers". Prices drop, and quality improves. But what if those competitors decide, "Why fight and bleed our profit margins? Let's shake hands, control the supply, and make money together." That 'secret handshake' and coordinated market manipulation is exactly what we call a Cartel. Looking at it through a pure economic lens, a cartel is essentially an oligopoly attempting to act like a monopoly. The core mathematical logic is simple: eliminate competition, artificially restrict supply, and dictate prices at will. Let’s break this down end-to-end and see how it operates in the real world. The 'Modus Operandi': How Do Cartels Work? Cartels don't just form out of thin air; they are backed by solid market strategy and numbers. They generally manipulate the market using three primary methods: 1. Price Fixing: This is the most common tactic. All cartel members agree on a minimum baseline price and promise not to sell below it. No price wars mean no loss of profit margins. 2. Output Restrictions (Supply Control): It’s basic economics, if you choke the supply while demand remains constant or grows, the price will shoot up. Cartels intentionally limit production so their product remains 'rare' and expensive. 3. Market Sharing: "You take the North, I'll sell in the South." Competitors divide geographic territories or customer segments among themselves so they never step on each other's toes. Real-Time Examples: The Cartels That Run the World When people hear "cartel," they immediately think of Pablo Escobar and the illegal drug trade. While those are cartels, perfectly legal and highly organized cartels operate openly within our global economic systems. 1. The Ultimate Global Cartel: OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) This is the most powerful, openly recognized cartel in the world. Middle Eastern nations and a few other oil-producing countries sit at a table and decide exactly how many barrels of crude oil will be pumped globally each day. Real-time impact: If OPEC decides to cut production, global supply drops instantly. By the next day, petrol prices rise, inflation spikes, and massive volatility hits global currency markets, directly impacting USD and other major currency pairs. A handful of decision-makers essentially set the macroeconomic trend for the entire globe. 2. The Illusion of Scarcity: De Beers and Diamonds At one point, De Beers controlled roughly 90% of the global rough diamond market. Diamonds are not actually as rare as we are led to believe. De Beers executed a brilliant cartel strategy: they bought up the majority of the world's diamond mines and drip-fed the supply into the market, ensuring diamonds remained artificially scarce and highly priced.
Apr 2026I love this post! I think we should adjust to saying “human skills” or “power skills” because this list describes the traits of the most impactful people I know. These skills are the hardest to learn and the easiest to skim over, but the MOST essential for success.
