Last week, I had the privilege of celebrating my 7th Top Performers Trip in Puerto Rico with some incredible Toast rockstars and their family members. A huge shoutout to Daniel Berkompas, MBA, Stan Volkman, Emily Spickler, and David Fulton (who was unable to attend) for qualifying for this year's trip. Stan, Emily, and David are repeats, and I am especially proud of Danny, my Austin District Manager, for qualifying for the first time. It was an amazing group, and I am excited to roll it back next year. 🌴 👏

May 2026Had an inspiring visit with the Toast team and customers in Sydney. It’s exciting to see the momentum of the business and the impact the team is delivering for customers across the region. Thanks to the leadership team - Brent Claremont Noel O'Connell 🍞 Cheryl Gledhill for building such a strong team and culture. And special thanks to Dushan Fernando for letting me shadow his sales calls and spend time with customers firsthand. Congratulations to the entire Toast Australia team on a fantastic result in Q1!
May 2026Last week, we brought the entire Toast Marketing team together for our annual offsite. This in-person time is always rewarding and worthwhile for our crew. A couple of key takeaways from the offsite: ✈️ We’re not just in rare air; we ARE rare air. We have the best marketing team in the business. Our success going forward will be the result of us staying close to our customers, continuing to embrace and upskill on AI, and being purposeful, bold, and insightful in our messaging. One of my favorite parts was celebrating our award winners—to have a team where everyone cheers so loudly for their colleagues’ accomplishments speaks volumes about the culture we’ve created. 💪 I've been talking about barbells a lot lately. Yes, the kind in the gym, but also to describe our marketing strategy. One side of the barbel is all-in on the AI buyer journey (and our own AI journey). Our customers are discovering completely differently and we're showing up in new ways digitally. At the same time, human connection matters more than ever. Showing up for our customers in real life is not going anywhere, we're continuing to put them literally in the frame of our campaigns ( 👋 windows) and our messaging will continue to reflect the deep understanding that only Toast can offer. 🧡 We welcomed AI leaders from peer company and ToastIQ power users to the offsite for panel discussions. From best practices for using LLMs in marketing to hearing about how our customers are navigating the skyrocketing price of tomatoes with AI, the most valuable parts of these offsites are often hearing from the incredible speakers we bring in. Huge thank you to Hannah Davis Tsumoto, Nick Lafferty , Ezra Goldschlager, Sam Glynn , and Angel Winpenny for taking the time to connect with our team. 🚀 We also got to celebrate the success of our Built For Busy launch. Every team across marketing had some hand in it, so it was great to reflect on the launch together. Thank you to Kristen Hawley for keeping that momentum going with her Expedite story last week. I joked that bringing our entire team together was kind of like planning and hosting a wedding with all of the logistics. Massive thank you to Mimi Patten , Gwyneth Hughes Rouillard , and Julia Beebe , who made it all run smoothly—none of this would be possible without you.
May 2026Hot out of the (pizza) oven: Hungry Howie's Pizza is moving all 500 of their locations to Toast 🍕!!! Everyone in the industry knows that pizza is one of the most complex categories in the business: managing pickup and delivery, the amount of topping customizations, keeping kitchens moving at the right pace—they have to do all of this, all at the same time. The Toast platform is built for this kind of complexity, and we’re proud to work with this brand full of great people as they scale and bring their famous flavored crusts to more communities nationwide. We’ll be working with them to implement our restaurant point-of-sale terminals, Kitchen Display Systems, and more. They are also looking forward to leveraging AI-powered insights from Toast IQ in the future. So much good stuff (and crust) ahead! Huge thanks to the teams who brought this incredible partnership to fruition.
