May 2026It was an honor to speak with our organization about Quinn, AI, and how we’re helping clients meet this historic moment as the world embraces AI. Having worked in some of the largest law firms in the world, I’ve seen how important it is to give attorneys better tools in high-pressure moments. Quinn is helping clients move faster, reduce risk, and navigate complexity with more confidence. Proud to be part of Toppan Merrill and the work we’re doing to help clients move forward with confidence.

May 2026You’re missing the next wave of editors. Microsoft has owned the document surface for decades in law firms, but Word still treats content and formatting as the same thing. That made sense for a general-purpose tool. It makes a lot less sense for modern legal work. What’s changing now is the editor itself. With Quinn, we’ve separated content from style. That matters a lot in complex capital markets documents, where drafting, reuse, collaboration, formatting, and downstream workflow all have to work together under real deadline pressure. It also creates the foundation for agentic generation in a way horizontal tools were never built to support. Markdown files also separate content from style, but they leave a lot of context out of the mix. Quinn doesn’t, you’re just unaware of the context embedded in our documents. Our AI has access to that additional context. Over the last week, myself and Cornel Mitrut have built a fitgap analysis tool for our service partners to deal with the onslaught of new document types we’re going to be ingesting into Quinn this summer. We’ll push that AI usage further up into the stack to help lawyers make better choices as they work on what matters, the content into their documents. So yes, AI matters. But I think the bigger question is who builds the next document environment lawyers actually want to work in with AI. We’ve built that at Toppan Merrill. From where I sit, Word is still the main competitor. It’s the incumbent. The opportunity is not just to add AI to the old surface. It’s to replace that surface with something built for legal workflows from the start. I went dark for four years to build this.
