Really excited about this one. We've spent years building enterprise schedule automation that's been tested at scale, and combining that with the AI-native foundation Autumn and the ShiftOS team built opens up a lot of possibility. Plenty of work in progress, but I think the industry stands to benefit meaningfully from this over time.
Aug 2026Appreciated the opportunity to present Works.AI performance data today at International Performance Management Institute (IPMI) annual healthcare IT gathering today. Great discussions on the application of AI and automation, and what it means to drive true realized vs soft workforce ROI. Thanks to Nas Panwar and the rest of the IPMI team!
Jun 2026Feeling nostalgic today flying through CLT. It’s has been a while, but many years ago, I commuted here almost weekly from the west coast for a seven year stretch. Too many red eyes, nights away from family, and Bojangles biscuit sandwiches to count. Also too many friendships that have faded with the passing of time and distance. Sending warm thoughts out to my old NC work family!
Jun 2026This survey from LeanTaaS echos what we're hearing from our health system clients. Payer declines are accelerating with increasing use of AI tools to drive payer margins up. Until the provider community catches up (TBD on how successful), we are staying focused on how we optimize core staff and keep driving cost saving opportunities that are large enough in scale to matter.
May 2026Sharing a piece highlighting the strengths of inpatient scheduling systems - structure, T&A/payroll integration and compliance. Automation, workflow and clinical flexibility? Not as much. Works tunes up your existing scheduling system so it sings the way you want.
Apr 2026We hear this constantly. Flexible work hours have emerged as a major driver for attraction/retention of inpatient clinical staff. The perception we also hear - "too much work/risk" - is largely driven by the daunting leap of faith of moving beyond a 3x12 structure that we know is a dissatisfier for many. I just checked our performance dashboard, and across all Works clients that layer us on top of UKG, ShiftWizard and Symplr, an average of 40% of core staff open shift claims are "partials" of 4, 6 or 8 hours due to Works' automation. Getting there is easier than many think, it's just hard to do with core scheduling alone.
Apr 2026In a recent convo with a health system workforce team, they relayed survey results indicating that over 80% of clinicians shared a preference for shift flexibility (diversifying the traditional 3x12 model). Backed up here by AHA's 2026 Workforce Scan: https://okt.to/zVm0DH No surprise to our team; across the Works' client base, we drive the successful change to flexible scheduling models while keeping the core scheduling system in place. Our clients average between 40% and 65% of open shift pickups being 4, 6, or 8 hours. All of them have increased overall fill rates meaningfully with the change.
Jan 2026Staffing flexibility is often talked about as a 'nice-to-have,' but SIH's results show it’s actually an operational and competitive necessity. For the healthcare leaders in my network: What has been the biggest hurdle in delivering flexible scheduling?
