Would You Like Bacon or Sausage? I have probably annoyed every server I have ever had during breakfast because my response to that question is always “Yes”. I don’t want one or the other I want both… My breakfast side choices are a reflection of one of my life philosophies which is simply… to say yes as often as possible to the things that are of interest you (while not neglecting responsibilities of course). The other week was a perfect example of that where I was involved in 5 events over the course of two days. Most would go to 1-2 events but certainly not all 5. I went to all 5… and I have no regrets! At times it felt a bit rushed but I would not trade a single thing about it… The first event was the “cannot miss” event, the 2026 Nevada Business Hall of Fame Dinner hosted by UNLV Lee Business School . Huge congrats to my friends Tanja Anguay and Anjala Krishen as well as everyone else involved in this absolutely incredible event, with incredible honorees. I left early for the second event where I got to hang out with my little guy doing our favorite father/son activity… going to heavy metal concerts together \m/ (Kudos to Architects for an incredible show and to my little guy for powering through and staying up past his bedtime). The next day brought two events with our very own US Congresswoman Susie Lee . Her office hosted a panel with bankers benefiting small businesses. After the panel we had a nice informal get together at mi casa with Susie to hear directly from her on matters that are on Nevadans minds. Immediately after the get together I rushed to attend the UNLV Latino Alumni Club’s inaugural Mentorship Program Ceremony (I was very underdressed, but it all worked out). Shoutout to Eddie Rivera, MS who gave an incredible speech that got all of us motivated for a bright future. I must say in the very short time that this club has existed I could not be more impressed or inspired by how well they are doing. Kudos to Dr. Izack Tenorio and the incredible board of directors leading the way… Felicidades mis amigos! Onwards and upwards, my friends! And don’t be afraid to say yes! Bonus Event: Got to spend time with the legend himself Melvin Gilbert who just turned 80 in absolute style.
