This week Unipart opened the doors to our new global IT centre of excellence hub in Pune, India and I was delighted to be there to lead the official opening ceremony. This investment represents a strategic leap in our digital capability. By tapping into Pune’s elite tech talent, we are strengthening our global expertise in Applications, Network & IT infrastructure, Automation, AI & Analytics, Business Solutions and Services, SAP and Cyber Security. And the intent is not only about supporting our global operations - it’s a high-performance engine designed to lead complex innovation for our worldwide customers. It was an honor to celebrate the launch with Richard Gifford and our talented team, led by Rushikesh Joshi . I look forward to the incredible impact this site will have on our global operations. May 2026Really proud to kick off Mental Health Awareness Week by sharing that Unipart has officially selected Mind , the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, as a charity of choice for 2026. Our ambition to be the driving force behind efficient, resilient, and sustainable supply chains is only possible if our people are supported to thrive. By embedding Mind’s expertise into our operations, we are ensuring our Zero Harm approach applies as much to psychological safety as it does to physical safety. This also reinforces the importance of wellbeing to The Unipart Way, which remains at the very heart of everything we do. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on our colleagues, our customers, our communities, and the vital work Mind does every day. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #Unipart #Mind #ZeroHarm #WellbeingAtWork #TheUnipartWay
May 2026It has been a productive and rewarding week in India, and I’m leaving tomorrow with a great deal of pride in our team. Over the last week I have had the privilege of meeting all of our colleagues in India, many of whom have been with Unipart for much of the 16 years we have operated here - a wonderful example of the continuous development and long service we strive for. Observing The Unipart Way at the heart of everything we do here is a testament to the hard work of our people over the last 16 years. As a supply chain performance improvement partner, it’s great to see first hand how our teams keep our customers' operations running smoothly. I was also pleased to share with the team that we’ve signed a contract extension with one of our long-term premium automotive customers in India, and we look forward to continuing to grow our global partnership with them. As well as seeing our various operations in the region, it was a further privilege to personally present our CARE awards, where we celebrate the long service and inclusive environment that makes our teams so strong. My thanks to Sumit Paul , Carl Williams , and Richard Gifford for hosting such an insightful visit. And to Rushikesh Joshi and team for the “tastes of India” dinner last night! Today, my final day in the region, I am looking forward to opening our new global IT centre of excellence. This is a major milestone in our journey here which I look forward to sharing more about later this week. #EmployeeEngagement #SupplyChainSolutions #TheUnipartWay #SAPPartner #SupplyChainITSolutions #SupplyChainITPartner
May 2026Today I am reflecting on the promise we made at Unipart when we launched our Zero Harm initiative last year. We have a culture that is built on a simple, non-negotiable promise: that every one of our 8,500 colleagues returns home safe and well at the end of every single shift and day. To me, safety has always meant more than just avoiding physical accidents. A truly healthy workplace is one where we are physically protected and mentally supported in equal measure. This month, we are championing a healthy psychological working environment. The psychosocial working environment is defined by how work is designed, organised and managed, and the organisational practices that shape everyday working conditions. Every small action makes a difference. At Unipart I am proud to witness a culture where we look out for one another and make safety, for both body and mind, second nature. #WorldSafetyDay #ZeroHarm #HealthAndSafety #WorldDayForSafetyAndHealthAtWork #TheUnipartWay
Apr 2026This is a fantastic machine which integrates semi-autonomous technology and high-precision engineering. Our machine transforms traditionally labour-intensive processes into streamlined, high-output operations that significantly reduce trackside risk while maximising installation accuracy. Our latest video of the Sleeper Layer in action at the Story Plant Limited site in Carlisle highlights the benefits: - Can deliver up to 1,000 sleepers per hour, ensuring project timelines are met with precision. - Semi-autonomous, single-operator setup reduces site risk and enhances safety. - Integrated PLC control and shaft encoder system allow for precision laying and positioning. - Equipped with a high-efficiency diesel engine that meets latest emissions standards. Please reach out to Tom Maxwell for more information on this or any other plant solutions that Unipart manufacture. Thank you Ian Purdham and team for your support.
Apr 2026Are you capturing the full value from your returned devices? Trade-in programmes, refurbishment models, parts harvesting and certified recycling are no longer “nice to have.” They’re margin protection strategies. Circular recovery models are helping tech brands: • Shorten repair times • Reduce replacement costs • Unlock second-life sales markets • Improve customer loyalty The circular economy isn’t about waste management. It’s about value management. Let’s talk about how your returns pipeline could become a recovery engine. Unipart #circulareconomy #supplychaintransformation
Apr 2026This is not what you think and works in the most simplistic way..... This actually does what it says on the tin... FuelActive® will bring operational savings like it is for other UK rail companies. If you have your own vehicles drop me a note and I can show you how with a demo that is pretty cool to see... #Unipart #rail #fuel
Apr 2026As a proud University of Derby graduate, I highly encourage applicants for the Chancellor's Entrepreneurs' Club. I am honoured to be a Founding Member of this brilliant initiative, led by Chancellor William Cavendish and guided by Theo Paphitis . Supporting next-generation talent is something I am deeply passionate about. It is exactly why I was so delighted to recently formalise a new strategic partnership between Unipart and the University. By acting as a catalyst between industry and academia, we can drive innovation and build the skills our industry desperately needs. Whether through creating work-based learning opportunities at the University, supporting the Entrepreneurs' Club, or investing in our own robust apprenticeship programmes, we believe that the best way to predict the future of our workforce is to help create it. #UniversityOfDerby #Unipart #FutureTalent #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #SupplyChain #Apprenticeships #WorkforceDevelopment #EarlyCareers
Apr 2026In a world that is increasingly struggling with supporting entry level career roles, I was inspired and humbled yesterday by the Unipart graduate class of 2024, completing their 18 month graduate programme. Over the 18 months they have worked across different placement projects. They dived into each placement head first and have worked on amazing products and improvement projects. Many of them were graduate engineers and whilst they talked about the technical skills they had learned along the way, they mainly talked about the problem solving, stakeholder management, resilience and driving impact at pace skills and behaviours that they had developed. All are now in full time roles and driving huge value in our business. When asked why they wanted to stay working at Unipart they talked about the breadth of our capabilities that created variety and opportunity for them and they talked of some of the wonderful managers and colleagues that had supported and mentored them. But most important was the growth mindset that allowed them to try, fail and learn - not everything will go according to plan but they felt safe to experiment and learn, not feel judged and criticised. And their message to me and my Executive Team colleagues - "keep investing in the future!" In organisations, we need to create the space and opportunities for the roles that will allow our young people (or people that want to re-train) to take that first step and learn and develop - they will be our future engineers, leaders and experts. Our 2025 cohort happened to be in the next training room yesteday and our 2026 intake is being finalised as we speak so I can't wait to see the value they bring in the same way Thanks in particular to David McGorman who had the courage to invest in many of the 2024 cohort and to all my Unipart colleagues that are supporting this programme And of course, well done to our graduates - thank you for what you bring every day, you are all amazing!
