May 2026I just finished a 2019 AI course in May 2026: AI Strategy and Governance, from Wharton. I run Robotly, our AI agency. In theory, I should be too busy selling AI to clients to sit through material that's 7 years old. Turns out, no. A good chunk of what I explain to clients in 2026 meetings was already written there, in 2019. The portfolio of quick wins + long-term initiatives. The difference between producing and consuming AI inside an organization. The common ethical principles. Have the models changed from 2019 until today? Yes, big time. However, the strategy and governance frameworks, not so much. The certificate is not the point. The point is what it made clear: most of the real AI problems inside companies are not technical. They are strategic, organizational, and about governance. And on those fundamentals, very little has actually moved. Thank you, professors Kartik Hosanagar , Lynn Wu , Prasanna Tambe , Kevin Werbach , for creating this extremely valuable course and helping us navigate this exciting era of AI. #AIStrategy #AIGovernance #Robotly #ArtificialIntelligence @Abelardo Flores

Apr 2026The ones that know me know giving back has always been a passion for me. Ten years ago I started Building Back the Community Foundation and ran it for 7 years. During that time I gave thousands of dollars in scholarships to middle and high school students, as well as ran community initiatives in hoods most of yall wouldn’t step foot in. I wanted to implement giving back to my daughter as early as possible. This weekend she did her first community service project with our church Cornerstone Church. She loved it and already asking when she can do more to give back. Thank you to Cornerstone for the great opportunity 🤲🏾📈
Apr 2026Not every employee is receptive to feedback. Throughout my career, I have observed many leaders facing challenges when employees resist feedback. When someone becomes defensive or argumentative, it complicates leadership, but it should never compromise your standards. If you are dealing with difficult employees who resist feedback, consider these suggestions to respond with clarity, consistency, and purpose: ✔ Listen first — understand what’s driving the behavior ✔ Reinforce your intent — “I’m here to help you succeed” ✔ Stay composed — don’t match emotion with emotion ✔ Clarify expectations — define success clearly and document it ✔ Hold accountability — if performance doesn’t improve, follow through consistently Here’s what you need to know: 👉 Support is always offered 👉 Growth requires effort from both sides You can coach, guide, and create clarity, but employees must be willing to put in the effort to succeed. Leadership is about helping employees succeed while maintaining the expectations that enable success. When both aspects align, performance improves, trust builds, and teams thrive. #Leadership #EmployeeSuccess #Accountability #HRLeadership #SuccessCreation #LeadershipDevelopment

Apr 2026Most leaders believe that motivation stems from compensation. However, the reality is that motivation comes from effective leadership. Leaders serve as the model for motivation. What you say and do can either uplift your team or diminish their spirit. The truth is: - Employees don’t disengage because they lack interest. - They disengage because they feel unsupported, undervalued, or unprepared for success. Motivation is cultivated daily through leadership behavior. Great leaders motivate by: - Creating clarity — employees need to understand what success looks like. - Communicating with purpose — the impact of words is greater than you might think. - Recognizing progress — it's essential to acknowledge not just the outcomes but the journey. - Coaching through obstacles — addressing challenges rather than overlooking them. When leaders excel in these areas: - Engagement increases - Performance improves - Retention strengthens - Culture transforms Motivation is not a one-time statement; it is demonstrated consistently every day. To build a high-performing, engaged team, focus on how you present yourself as a leader. People success results in company success.
