May 2026If AI was supposed to shrink the workforce, the data is showing something else entirely. New Visier Inc. research, conducted by data scientists Manda Winlaw and Erfaneh Mahmoudzadeh , looked at more than 7.7 million employee records across 170+ large companies over the five years ending in 2025. The big takeaway from that research is that headcount growth was twice as common as downsizing. 67% of companies increased their total number of employees. 33% reduced headcount. At the same time, 77% of companies showed significant headcount and structural changes at the team level. That tells me the real story is redesign in business, not just cutting. Teams are being rebuilt and skills are shifting. Some roles are shrinking, while others are becoming more important than ever before. And all of this is happening faster and more frequently than ever. The pace of change is relentless, but it’s not what we originally thought AI was going to bring into the business. For leaders, this changes the game when it comes to org design and workforce planning. In the AI era, these can’t be annual exercises anymore. They need to be in a continuous discipline. You need to understand where work is happening, which teams are growing, where capacity is constrained, and how AI is changing the shape of the workforce. You need to be able to see that complete picture and understand your workforce continuously, in real time. The right question is no longer “How many people do we need?” It is: “Is our organization built for where the work is going?” That means knowing which teams are expanding, which ones are under pressure, where skills are becoming more valuable, and how each of those choices connects to business performance. And that’s exactly what Visier was built for. To give you the most complete picture of your workforce at any given time. I’m curious if other leaders are seeing org design and workforce planning becoming more continuous and less episodic in your orgs?
May 2026If you're at #PAWorld in London over the next two days, feel free to pop by and say hello to my colleagues 👋 📈 Elliott King will be sharing how people analytics is shifting from reporting to decision enablement, focusing on performance drivers and practical ways to turn data into faster, better decisions at scale (Wednesday 22nd) 📈 🔥 Mike Everitt will be giving a guided walkthrough of how you can use Visier's Org Design application to design, model, simulate and scenario plan different approaches to a topic that is 'always on' in the agentic era (Wednesday 22nd)🔥 From a personal perspective David Duewel of BT Group will be discussing what I consider one of the hardest topics to land when it comes to realising the true value of people analytics, and that is enabling managers and people leaders beyond HR and at scale, to get secure, strategic and actionable insight (Wednesday 22nd)💡 🚨 Johann Cheminelle of Lonza is leading a session on how he and his team aligned HR, Finance and Operations on one planning model, helping Finance plan using workforce data. I cannot stress how getting HR and Finance to speak the same language is probably one of the biggest reasons why people analytics and SWP programmes deliver and realise value for the business (Wednesday 22nd)🚨 Finally, later today Mariana Allain Carrasqueira of Mars will be focused on smarter resource allocation with workforce data, providing visibility into decisions related to cost, structure and capacity. The direction of the function is having to change rapidly given the era we operate in, and it is good to see so many case studies reflect the need for workforce data and insight to connect to decisions that have an actual outcome that is tangible to the business! #PAWorldLondon #PAWorld #Visier #Workforceintelligence
Apr 2026Delighted to welcome Nick Hingorani to Visier Inc. 's EMEA BDR team. 🤝 Nick joins us having built up a solid foundation of key prospecting and relationship building skills selling into the office of the CTO during his time at NTT Data, taking our small but mighty team in EMEA to a total of 3 BDRs. Nick will be supporting our growth in the commercial market (<5000 employees) which is a vital market for Visier as it continues to cement its position as the market leading workforce intelligence application, by offering an integrated approach to agentic people insights, strategic workforce planning and org design. 📈 Organisations of this size are just as data hungry as large enterprises, but don't often have the resource or size of people analytics team to keep up with the needs of the business. Visier's market leading technology can help PA teams from the commercial market drive efficiency, effectiveness and productivity, elevating the strategic impact of people analytics as a function way beyond dashboards built using generic BI and serving core HR KPIs! 🔥 Welcome Nick, here's to a long and successful tenure! 💪
Apr 2026HR is running out of runway when it comes to presenting their work and its results in the language of HR 🛤️ Framing conversations around talent and engagement although dutiful, are often met with a 'so what?' from the business 🤷♂️ Only clear, measurable initiatives that are linked to cost, risk, performance, productivity and growth will get the attention, funding and engagement of the business when it comes to HR's ability to align people strategy to results 💹 Through Visier, Unisys analysed their people data with Salesforce & ServiceNow data to understand the relationship between tenure and performance, as well as finding and ranking its top-performing technicians by region, optimising their time and resources in their busiest locations and creating significant business value. 🔥 🔥 🔥 Dibyendu Sharma Mondal , Head of People Analytics, HR Technology & Ops, at Unisys shares more via the link in the comments section below! 🤝
