Gratitude. Joy. Pride. After 30 years at Weber Shandwick , I’m joyfully sharing the news that I plan to retire in September. Building Weber into one of the top agencies in the world has been a dream job with a dream team. I feel amazingly lucky to have been inspired by incredible clients and teammates around the world. And, I’m immensely proud of our team and the values-led culture we’ve built, together. I am SO excited for Karen Pugliese to step into the role of CEO, next. Karen is a 15-year veteran of our agency and has been a driving force in shaping our growth, client relationships and culture of innovation and integrity. I’ve worked closely with Karen forever and there’s no one I trust more to lead Weber into the next chapter. I’ll be here through the summer spending time with Karen, our leadership team and clients so you’ll be hearing from me again. See you soon!
May 2026True innovation isn’t just about great technology. It is driven by the brilliant, curious minds behind it. When we launched this year's MENAT Innovation Lab, the goal was to uncover the sharpest client-facing ideas from across our network. We received so many amazing ideas from employees across the region, and it feels good to know there is so much innovative thinking happening amongst the teams inside our operations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, Riyadh, and Istanbul. Even among great ideas, there is often that one that rises just above the rest – and Reham ElSayed completely raised the bar. She is our Weber Shandwick MENAT Innovation Lab winner, and we’re already working on making this concept a reality. Reham brings a rare mix of creativity, clarity, and heart to her work, and her grounded nature makes collaborating with her genuinely enjoyable. A huge thank you to our judging panel of experts, Ziad Hasbani, Tom Beckman, Charlotte Witte, and Ricarda Ruecker, for their time and input. Huge thanks to Anna Varley Jones for leading this project, and to Christina George and Amina Jalabi for their vital contributions and support. Excited about the next iteration of this idea! #WeberShandwickMENAT #PeopleFirst #WorkAtWeber #Innovation #MENATInnovationLab

May 2026We're doing something cool for London Climate Action Week. Best practice sustainability comms isn't about one stakeholder having perfect silver bullet answers. We're in a complex world full of clashing perspectives - which means that the journey to brilliant comms has to be a joint one. Because of that, on Tuesday 23 June, we'll be holding an AI-powered climate comms focus group at Weber Shandwick , featuring the brilliant AimHi Earth , testing approaches for three comms scenarios against AI-generated consumer, colleague and B2B buyer personas. If you're a sustainability or comms professional, we want to hear your ideas and your perspectives... and let's see if we can move the dial with your target audiences. Spaces are limited so unfortunately can't guarantee a spot for everyone. Register your interest below. #LCAW #ClimateComms #SustainabilityCommunications #AI #AIpersonas https://lnkd.in/eav3ag7V
May 2026I’ve been talking to many of our clients about the new era of risk C-suites are facing. This piece I wrote for Axios summarizes my perspective. The challenge isn’t that political, economic, cultural, and technological forces have emerged as new risk domains. For the most part, they’ve always existed in some form. The real challenge is that major business threats can detonate in a single risk domain and cascade across all four at once. Success is often determined by how effectively leaders navigate the convergence, not just how well they manage any single category. The four domains: Political risk: Trade policy announced on social media. Executive orders reshaping industries. The geopolitical stances of CEOs now carry consequences once reserved for heads of state. Economic risk: Narrative is a financial variable. Research analyzing more than 35,000 earnings call transcripts found that textual framing — independent of financial performance — explains 25 to 40 percent of variation in analyst expectations. Cultural risk: Public sentiment moves on news cycles measured in hours. Companies that treat cultural trends the way a previous generation treated financial risk will outperform those treating it as noise. Technological risk: AI amplifies every other risk category faster. The equally consequential exposure is both infrastructure and organizational. Fluency across all four domains, and the ability to anticipate and prepare for risk before collisions occur, is now a requirement for effective leadership. Apr 2026Many of the leaders I’ve been talking to this week at the Semafor World Economy Summit say we are operating in an entirely new risk ecosystem, one where politics, AI, and media increasingly surround traditional business decisions. Thanks SEMAFOR for having me on. Weber Shandwick Omnicom Public Relations Omnicom
