Amazing start to IP Counsel Café ! Fireside chat with Nikki Vo on everything patent, trade secret & AI. A few takeaways: 👉 Exit interviews on the last day of work happen too late to protect your trade secrets. 👉 Right now, AI is a tool for better work product, not cheaper. If you’re using it mainly to cut costs, you’re probably leaving value on the table. 👉 Asked whether they’d want to roll back eBay and return to pre-eBay jurisprudence, not a single hand went up — from SMEs to large companies, SEP holders to implementers. For more information on any of this or to be added to my private email list, DM me or email Kathi@winston.com . Thank you, Sandy Chan for the amazing community you’ve created. You rock. 🎸
May 2026Miami has real energy right now. 🌴 I was there spending time with my partners, our Miami office managing partner ( Enrique J. Martin ) and a good friend. Great conversations, great people, and a good reminder that growth does not happen by accident. Also amazing to see Taylor Wessing partners - Emma Danks . You have to show up. Lots of travel! That is probably the biggest takeaway from the trip. You cannot build a market from your desk. You have to be in the room, listen to what people are seeing, understand where capital is moving, and spend time with the people who are actually building companies, funding companies, advising companies, and taking risks. Miami is clearly becoming a bigger part of the story for capital markets, private capital, family offices, digital assets, M&A, and cross-border work. For Winston & Strawn LLP , I am excited about what we are building in Miami and across our platform. We have strong partners, a growth mindset, and a real opportunity to help clients wherever the next wave of opportunity is forming. The market is changing. Capital is moving. Great companies are being built in more places than ever. The question is whether we are willing to go where the momentum is. ✈️ Great visit. Better people. Excited for what comes next. 🚀 Where are you seeing the most interesting momentum right now? Miami, Texas, New York, London, Asia, somewhere else? #miami #meetings #innovation
May 2026What an incredible time to be joining Winston & Strawn LLP ! The buzz around Winston right now is something else — and since the news of the Winston Taylor merger, we’ve been seeing the strongest IP candidates we’ve seen in a long time. The market is moving, top talent is paying attention, and honestly, the conversations we’re having are some of the best in years. Speaking of top talent — huge welcome to Aimee Fagan , who just joined Winston in Dallas following two ITC stars joining in DC. Grabbed this photo with her and William Logan and the excitement is contagious. If you’re an IP attorney who’s been curious about Winston, now’s the moment. Let’s chat. 💬
