Which, admittedly, is usually not the ideal setup for becoming a global superstar in modern entertainment. While researching our Harvard case on Thomas Müller, I became increasingly fascinated by leaders who shape organizations without dominating attention. Müller was rarely the loudest superstar, the most marketable athlete globally or the player built around aesthetics. And yet he became one of the defining figures of one of the most successful football organizations in the world. ⚽ What makes this interesting from a leadership perspective is that his influence was deeply adaptive. Different coaches used him differently. Different generations relied on him differently. Different systems required different roles. But he remained relevant across all of them. In many organizations, we still tend to overvalue visible leadership: the charismatic speaker, the dominant personality, the permanent center of attention. But sustainable high performance environments often depend on something else: Invisible leadership. People who stabilize culture, connect generations, lower internal friction and quietly increase the performance of everyone around them. Possibly less glamorous, too. Which may explain why they are still underestimated.
May 2026Had a great time at IMC's Launchpad start of this month. Thanks to everyone organising the event, my awesome event buddy Adrian Freund and shout out to blue IMC muffins!
May 2026Great to be in Casablanca this week attending Logismed Salon du Transport et de la Logistique alongside my colleague Hakim - Joaquim Sebbah and partners from across the logistics and supply chain industry. It’s always valuable to meet face-to-face with companies, customers, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, explore opportunities for collaboration, and discuss how digital innovation continues to shape the future of transport and logistics. Thank you to everyone who stopped by Stand B2 to connect with us. A special thank you to our CargoWise business and service partner Archilog , and to Emile CUVELIER and Vincent Leneutre , it has truly been great to spend time with you. Beyond the event itself, it’s been an amazing experience spending time in Casablanca. The city has incredible energy, culture, and hospitality and the people of Morocco have been exceptionally welcoming, warm, and inspiring throughout the trip. Looking forward to continuing the conversations and building strong partnerships across the region. #Logistics #Transport #SupplyChain #CargoWise #WiseTechGlobal #Logismed #Casablanca #Morocco #FreightForwarding #DigitalLogistics #Partnerships #Innovation
May 2026Three days after deploying my "perfect" AI agent, I felt empty. Not because it failed — but because it succeeded at exactly the wrong thing. Here's what that taught me.
May 2026𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗙𝗟 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀. Which still sounds mildly irritating in some sports boardrooms. When I attended the first NFL game in Munich and later researched the league’s expansion into Germany for a Harvard case study, I increasingly had the feeling that we were not really studying a sports league anymore. We were studying a global entertainment ecosystem. Which probably also explains why the halftime show discussions occasionally felt almost as strategic as the football discussions themselves. 🏟️ The National Football League (NFL) does not just export games. It exports emotion, identity, ritual, storytelling and belonging. In many ways, the real competition is not another league. It is whatever captures attention and cultural relevance on a Sunday evening: Netflix, TikTok, gaming, creators, music. And maybe this is one of the biggest strategic misunderstandings in sport right now: Many organizations still think they are competing inside their industry. But their audiences stopped thinking that way a long time ago.
May 2026Last week I had the pleasure of attending Twig Talk 2026 in Playa del Carmen. I’d like to especially congratulate Guilherme Luz, Marina Felício , and the entire team at Twig for always making us feel so welcome and comfortable. It is always a pleasure to participate in these kinds of events and represent CargoWise in such valuable industry gatherings. One of the most valuable aspects of these events is the opportunity to connect with outstanding industry leaders, not only from Latin America but from all around the world, exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and continue learning from each other in such a dynamic industry. It was also a great experience sharing the event with my colleague Mariano J. Posbeyikian with whom I continue learning about this industry every single day. Thank you again for the invitation and for creating these spaces for collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing.
