I recently had the opportunity to lead a high-pressure media engagement workshop for leaders at the Colorado Rural Electric Assn. Spring Meeting hosted by Holy Cross Energy . We had a great conversation around wildfire communications, public safety messaging, and handling difficult media questions when the pressure is on. It was a thoughtful and highly engaged group to work with, thank you again to CREA for the having me! #PublicRelations #CrisisCommunications #MediaTraining #StrategicCommunications #LeadershipCommunication #PublicAffairs #Energy
May 2026Nothing like talking AI in a legendary boxing gym. Two days of conversations reinforced something important: AI doesn’t replace operational knowledge, it exposes whether you have it. The leaders getting this right are pairing deep experience with new tools, not skipping the hard-earned understanding that makes good decisions possible. That combination is where the real advantage lives. Great post Scott Thiele !

Apr 2026Had the opportunity to visit the Albanian Football Federation ( FSHF - Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit ), a partner of Pikasa Analytics — and came away genuinely impressed. Like many countries, in Albania, football isn't just a sport. It's national identity, economic engine, character development, and civic religion, all at once. With nearly 80% market penetration, the second most popular sport isn't even in the conversation. Federation President @Armand Duka, UEFA Executive Committee member, FIFA Associations Committee member, and the man who has led the FSHF since 2002, runs an organization unlike most of its peers. The Federation doesn't just field national teams. It governs every level of the professional and amateur game, builds pitches across the country, and has spent more than two decades systematically constructing something that looks a lot like a national sports institution. The visit began with dinner at Air Albania Stadium — a €85 million, 22,500-seat arena that opened in 2019 and would be a point of pride for any football nation, let alone one of Europe's smaller ones. The next day at Federation headquarters, the sheer operational density was what struck me. A high school championship on the turf pitch. The Women's National Team in practice on the grass pitch. And I'll never tell what was happening on the raised, visually-blocked pitch where tactical drills take place. All three immaculately maintained. We toured the in-house clinic, the fitness facility, the Federation's own broadcast studio, the museum and trophy cabinet. We looked out at the construction site where a hotel is going up to house players hosted at headquarters — part of an infrastructure investment program that exceeded €8.5 million last year alone. Whatever the Men's National Team achieves on the pitch, the Federation itself is the result. And by any measure, it's a win. Photos from bigsee.com and fshf.org
