I don’t get it. What is with requiring IT staff to be on site? I worked on site at my previous job, despite the fact that only one other member of my team was in the same office. The majority of the team, including my manager, worked elsewhere. Essentially, I had to commute to work in a remote job. The company I worked at before that (laid off in a RIF) is is soon going to be requiring all IT staff to be on site (even those hired as FT remote). When I worked there, about 70% were remote, and we rolled out quality software updates to 8000+ stores on a regular basis. By requiring people to be on site, companies are eliminating a major portion of the talent pool. This is especially true in niche technology areas, like #IBMi . 🤷
