Here’s a trap I kept falling into, and I don’t think I’m alone: using practice as a way to feel better rather than get better. Anytime something went badly, my instinct was to immediately try again. Lose a game, play another. Do poorly on a mock, take the next one the same day. Mess up a case, jump into another. It felt productive, but more often than not, I was just chasing the relief of a better outcome. The irony is that this kind of repetition only cements your existing patterns - including the mistakes you aim to fix. I noticed this most during GMAT prep and later while preparing for consulting interviews - when putting in the hours simply wouldn't translate into proportionate improvement. What helped was building feedback loops into my system. By logging GMAT mistakes and tracking case interview performance in a simple Excel, I could spot repeated errors, uncover deeper habit patterns and consciously adjust my approach with each try. In both cases, that reflection did far more to improve my baseline than blindly piling on more attempts would have. I believe the bottomline is - we need to practice more than we reflect, but we need to reflect enough to make that practice actually count. Sharing the basic GMAT error log and case tracker template I used, in case they’re helpful to anyone else. https://lnkd.in/gBHdBYTy
May 2026CFOs have officially evolved from "Chief Bean Counter" to "Chief Value Architect". To win, automation must be a strategy, not just a tool. Here is how the Automation Playbook should look like: 1. Prioritize: To focus on the high-volume "drudge work" first (P2P and O2C). This clears the deck for what truly matters. 2. Structure: To shift toward a "Finance-Tech" hybrid model. We need data storytellers and systems thinkers, not just spreadsheet dwellers. 3. Enablement: To stop policing and start empowering. Spend your energy on upskilling your team to interpret AI-driven insights rather than just verifying data entry. The Governance Anchor Efficiency without oversight is a liability. Keeping governance rock-solid by building automated audit trails directly into your workflows. Move from "monthly checks" to "real-time anomaly detection." The goal should not be just to work faster but to provide the business with a crystal-clear windshield instead of a dusty rearview mirror. Finance leaders: What is the one process you automated that yielded the highest ROI? Let’s swap notes in the comments! 👇 #FutureOfFinance #FinTech #DataDriven #ChangeManagement #CFO #FinanceLeadership #ExecutiveStrategy
Apr 2026In my role, I have the privilege to learn from and hear perspectives from C-level leaders, VCs/PEs, and the day-to-day GTM operators deep in the weeds. Here is my biggest takeaway from the AI paradox... Org courage. 💥 Yup!! Simple idea. Hard reality. Most companies are focused on inserting AI into existing workflows. Few are stepping back to ask whether the workflow, the handoffs, and the ownership model still make sense. And even when they do, teams are still stuck in the daily battle of keeping the lights on !! The WHY matters more now than ever. And that’s the hard part.....Not AI adoption. Not tooling. Not experimentation. It’s having the courage to redesign the machine. And that’s where the real work starts. Hey, Just take the leap. The battle to keep the lights on isn’t going away - don’t let it become the reason you stand still. 🚀 #AI #GTM #Leadership #Innovation
