Fantastic to see the Tees Valley Combined Authority FUSION Project Paper published and the impact clearly evidenced. Achieving over 50% reductions in delay at some locations and 5,000 annualised travel time hours saved is a hugely compelling outcome. 🚦📊 As Sean Fryer says, what’s particularly powerful here is how this goes beyond optimisation at individual sites to demonstrate the value of connected, predictive and data‑driven operations at a network level. A great example of how collaborative working between TVCA, local authorities and Yunex Traffic can lay the foundations for smarter, more resilient transport networks. Well done to everyone involved in delivering and evaluating the programme - a really strong benchmark for future Smart Region capability.
May 2026Really proud of the Yunex Traffic team for delivering such a strong outcome on the Bridgewater TAS project. Working alongside TROPAC Australia and Aldridge Traffic Controllers (ATC), this is a great example of what we can achieve when we come together - combining the right expertise with purpose-built technology to deliver something that truly lasts. It’s projects like this that help us build safer, smarter and more connected transport networks, while making a real difference for the communities we serve. A big congratulations to everyone involved - a fantastic team effort and one to be genuinely proud of👏
May 2026🚦 Traditional ELV or Yunex Plus+? My thoughts on traffic signal upgrades in Scotland. As Yunex Traffic Regional Sales Manager for Scotland, I get asked this question regularly: “Should we stick with traditional ELV or move to the newer distributed intelligence systems like our ST950 Plus+?” With Scotland’s net-zero 2045 target, ongoing pressure to reduce road disruption, and the need to control both capital and whole-life costs, the choice has never been more important. The Core Difference Traditional ELV relies on a central controller with lots of heavy multi-core cables running to every signal head. It’s the long-standing approach, but it brings higher material use, more complex installation, and lower resilience. Yunex Plus+ uses a distributed architecture — intelligence is moved out to compact nodes around the junction, connected by simple 4-core cables in flexible Arm and Ring topologies. Why More Scottish Schemes Are Choosing Plus+ 💰 Lower Whole-Life Costs • Much less cabling and ducting = significant material and installation savings • Faster, simpler installation = reduced labour and traffic management costs • Fewer maintenance visits thanks to advanced diagnostics and hot-swappable components. • Smaller cabinet options = lower civil engineering costs 🌍 Better Carbon & Sustainability Performance • Major reduction in copper usage and embedded carbon • Lower operational emissions with ultra-low-power LED signal heads • Less disruption during works = reduced congestion and vehicle emissions This directly supports Scotland’s legal commitment to net zero by 2045. 🛡️ Superior Resilience & Reliability • Ring topology keeps the entire junction operational even if a cable is damaged •Hot-swappable nodes allow maintenance without full signal shutdown •Redundant power supplies and built-in fault tolerance minimise downtime •Predictive maintenance instead of reactive repairs Proven Across Scotland We’ve successfully installed Plus+ at multiple sites across Scotland, including the historic Nith Bridge in Thornhill and at major junctions like Charing Cross in Glasgow. The system is performing well in real Scottish conditions — from heritage locations to busy urban junctions. What’s your experience? Are you still specifying traditional ELV, or have you started moving to distributed systems like Plus+? I’d love to hear your views on cost, carbon, and resilience — drop your thoughts in the comments 👇 #TrafficSignals #Highways #TransportScotland #NetZero #Infrastructure #YunexTraffic #Netzero #Plus +
May 2026Great news for the Yunex Traffic team. Winning this contract in a competitive process is a strong endorsement of the expertise, collaboration and commitment that went into the bid. Delighted to see Yunex Traffic trusted to support The City of Edinburgh Council 's ambitions for more sustainable, efficient movement, and excited about what we will deliver together.
May 2026This is a real game changer for the ITS sector. At a time when public budgets are more constrained than ever, Yunex Traffic ’s Plus+ Advantage allows customers’ investment in new fixed assets to operate in a temporary mode during the installation phase, without the need for expensive rental-based solutions. The result is smarter use of infrastructure, better value for the public purse, and more budget available to invest in new infrastructure. #BetterUseOfAssets #CostEffective #SmartInfrastructure
Apr 2026🚦 ITS UK calls for urgent renewal of obsolescent urban traffic signals. On 7 April, Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK) published its new manifestos for Scotland and Wales. Key recommendations include strong support to renew ageing urban traffic signal infrastructure and greater use of transport technology to support decarbonisation and better integration. This resonates strongly with the challenges many Scottish local authorities are facing — outdated equipment, high energy and maintenance costs, and the need for greener, more reliable transport networks. At Yunex Traffic , we’re helping councils modernise their signals with practical, proven hardware solutions — including the ST950 Plus+ controller, Yutraffic Actis signal heads, and LED retrofit options that deliver significant energy savings, reduced cabling, enhanced safety, and greater resilience with minimal disruption. Apr 2026🚦 1.2 million hours wasted every year on Glasgow buses. That’s the headline from a new University of Glasgow study. Traffic congestion is costing bus passengers 1.2 million hours of their time and an estimated £24 million annually — with Pollokshaws Road among the worst affected routes. Scenes like this are all too common. At Yunex Traffic , we believe smarter traffic signal hardware can play a meaningful role in tackling these delays by enabling better bus priority at junctions, improving journey time reliability, and helping more people choose public transport.
